Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Sorry big. I just saw this question. The top blade is a Robeson. A cursory Google search showed it to be produced prior to 1939. If anyone knows more about it I'd love to hear from you. Whatever it's age I like it just fine. :) Thanks for your interest, hope you see this response.

Enjoying my HJ on a surprisingly warm November day.

Great photography and a nice knife!
I borrowed the Harness just for taking pictures, and regret not getting one for myself.

Tell us more about this knife, please. It looks hollow ground and the blade tip is interesting, why rounded; out of curiosity? I like the pull on it and the handle has a lot of contours. Looks like a lock back as well. What kind of wood is it? Did you make it? More pics ?

Its a carbon steel knife I made for a friend of mine who is the captain of a fairly large tug boat, he designed the shape of the knife so that if it was dropped it wouldn't puncture a rubber inflatable boat ,its a lockback knife with almost a razor edge ground on one side only, the wood is elm burl completely natural and unstabilized ,the long pull was designed to undo d shackles in both the open position and closed position with this part of the blade deferentially tempered to suit the application,it was one of my favorite knives I made and it took me ages so I was saddened to learn it ended up at the bottom of the Irish sea:( he used it mainly for cutting rope and by his account it performed well, the burl is beautiful stuff!

Trying to get a decent pic. I'll have to try again later when we have more sun. :(
Edit; because the sun is shining now. :D:cool:
