  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Terrific timber, everyone!
James, that sowbelly is a stunner!:cool: What make/model is that?

The only wood in my pockets this week is charred boxwood:

Thanks Gary. It's a Case 2016 Sowbelly with Tony Bose' signature etched on the blade, I like the ebony on it. It has slight traces of grey and even a little brown in it especially on the pile side.

Food safe mineral oil is the only thing I put on any of my knives, regardless of handle material or blade steel. I've had no problems so far.

+1  Jeff! I use Norton Sharpening Stone Oil, which is highly refined mineral oil. I use it for honing, protection on all my carbon steel, and to "Oil The Joints" on all my knives. But I never apply it directly to the handles on my Pocket Cutlery, they only get incidental exposure when I wipe down my knives. Now on my kitchen knives it is a different story, they get regular applications to all the wood handles! :)

Beautiful Wood being posted for this Wooden Wednesday! Today I am Totin one of my favorites. :D

Always good to see the stripes on that one Jeff, I'd really like to get hold of a No.26 in Zebrawood.

GT, I've seen (and admired) that knife several times when you've posted it before, but I never realized that the handle was made of wood! To my eye (clearly without observing is closely enough) I always thought it was some sort of tortoise-shell-type material. :D

Not sure, WoodMan, all Queen's zebrawood has that same reddish color. If it's dyed, it's from the factory.
