Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Thanks Bob. I like the blackwood. It seems to have very fine grain…silky. This one is consistent in color. I‘ve seen some with noticeable shades of purple which I loved the look of. It’s high on the Janka Hardness Scale. A good wood for covers.

Interesting how other countries picked up the lambsfoot blade early on Jack.

Yes, went to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, possibly Canada, and many other places, before it finally arrived in the USA

I'm away from home this week and next, and I think the only knife with wood handle I took with me is a No. 8 laminated birch Opinel I recently bought:

I like those laminated birch Opinels, GT. When I bought mine a while back, I was torn between the red one and the one you got there. I went with the red, but I’ll probably go back and buy one of those (I think they just called it “laminated brown”) at some point, too.

I know I’m replying to a month-old post, but I hope you had a nice vacation!

Very cool, Dave!

That thing is amazing, I have seen the micarta variant, but did not know there was a wood option as well, what year was that ?
Thank you !!!, this was the 2015 Bladeforums knife. Eric ea42 ea42 did an amazing job designing this one and designed the 2014 runner up also. I love the Bocote wood, sunken joints, W&T, F&F, carries like a smaller knife and is 440C stainless. He now owns and operates Albers Cutlery Company and continues to make the finest.
