Work knives

Industrial Electrician, mostly 480 but I'm allowed to work up to 2,400. It gets your attention when you pop open a cabinet and see three fuses the size of beer cans, staring back at you.

For the first couple years after I changed departments (they got rid of my old job), it was an Alox Electrician.

(Bonus flashlight content)

In the meanwhile, I started collecting more traditional electrician-pattern knives, and took my Camillus to work with me one day for a change of pace.

I decided I like the Camillus better than the Alox, so it's become my work knife.
I have the alox electrician and collect traditional slip joint electricians it's one of my favorite knife patterns and the screwdriver blade comes in handy as a painter

Was a carpenter (still do some small scale jobs) so Stanley knife and old Marples marking knife. That's about it, really boring but always got me by.

I'd have been laughed at on site pulling out a flash expensive folder!!
One of the razor knives I carry is a southwire brand made for electricians and a few guys laughed when I said it was $10 then they felt the grip and fell in love with it

If it works it works! As I'm UK based not familiar with that brand.

Just had a look, very ergonomic with what looks like a rubberised under grip. Much better than the metal Stanley knife I use!

I worked in grocery stores for 31 years (mainly in the meat department) and used a box cutter for 95% of my needs. Now I work for a non-profit ministry and still use a box cutter a lot. I also carry a traditional slip joint, either a Buck 307 Stockman or an SAK Tinker, a multi tool, an auto in my left front pocket, and I have an SAK Classic on all my key rings for the scissors. If I'm not working, I switch the box cutter for a CS 4Max Scout.

Engineer, and I usually feel comfortable bringing anything up to a 4” closed traditional slip joint folder around. For the last month or two it’s been an Opinel #6 just for the heck of it. Folks at work are comfortable with what I carry, but I don’t want to find out where the limits are- HR sucks at every level.

Run a small tree service, usually carry a douk douk, svord peasant, or a small sebenza along with a swisschamp. An imacasa cuta machete rides in the bucket truck or whatever pickup I'm driving for the day, and a sheath knife of some flavor resides in my bag.IMG_20220513_172401961.jpg

Landscaping and gardening. I’ve had several knives over the years go through the work rotation.

The current set up is a Benchmade bailout (3v aluminum handle), Spyderco endela fully serrated and a tops alrt xl.

The Emerson horseman partially serrated is still the best all around knife I’ve used on the job. The Spyderco manix 2 was another one that had a long run.
