I wound up keeping the Whisperlite International just to have around in case of a prolonged power outage.
I like its tank-like construction. Simmering isn't impossible--hard, but not impossible. It won't see as much use as my other stoves, most likely, but I like having the ability to burn lots of fuels.
I may pick up the Coleman Dual Fuel two-burner at some point. Small Fart carries it for under $100.
I looked at the Whisperlite Universal (burns both liquid and isobutane), but it was twice the price I paid for the Whisperlite International.
I'm intrigued by the Dragonfly multi-fuel, but it too is pricier. Reviews seemed mixed, just like with the Whisperlite.
Honestly, given that I have kids and am not out doing week-long trips, I'm more likely to throw a canister stove in the pack for a 1-2 night trip.
I'm really liking that Micro Rocket kit.
