Hi Fellas,

The inevitable has happened (fortunately!), and I started a new job a couple months ago (as summa yoos know). The new schedule will impact my shop time substantially, so my progress will go from slow and steady to fitful and frantic.

If you have an open request or order with me, I will keep you on the list, but the wait will extend... I apologize for that, but knifemaking doesn't pay well enough to count as the new job. ;)

If you'd like to cancel, no harm no foul - that's why I structure my orders the way I do.

so, i'm packing very light. it's just not worth bringing heavy big cameras.

what i'll DO, is take some video, and still on a handy-cam... those will not be uploaded real-time

though i'll take a few on the phone and upload... put in my photo account. y'all can view as i go. repost if you like. or not.

don't expect a lot of live coverage otherwise. though, i'll try some, and more than most ;)

I never really had a negative opinion about the BG Parang as a concept. But the execution on the first production was a disaster. And then there's the color scheme & not too subtle self promotion. I'm sure it'll chop about as well as any other similar sized blade with similar geometry. But I know I can get something as good for about the same price & not have to change the handle & sheath just to get rid of the logos.

Personally, I'd rather give my money to Condor or Martindale.

You guys are more up to speed on these than I am, but I think that might have been a larger version with the problems. This is pretty tiny, full tang and on the soft side. Can't really imagine how somebody could break it chopping. I like the size for a kayak cockpit. If I do lose it throwing it, I might be able to find another chopper or two around here somewhere :D

Well crap. Doesn't look like we'll get to make Blade after all. Too much "responsible adult" stuff to do to get away. Those that are going, have a blast and travel safe.
 
Found this old Prince Albert tobacco can, when we tore the floor out. Hoping to find money, but it still had tobacco in it. Dry, but still smells as fresh as can be:

BG Parang. That looks about the size of the one I had, that got recalled a week after I got it. I contacted their website, they sent me a pre-paid FedEx shipping box, then six weeks later I got back an identical knife. No engineering changes that I can see. Must have just been a temper issue, but they were good about it.

Um I dont recommend that you Google "Prince Albert can" with the safe search off :eek:
