Worst Accidental Cut?

I did something to my knuckle on left index finger cutting a zip tie with a case soddie jr. Wife severed two tendons in same finger, same knife. Gave the knife away haha!

Not my "worst" cut but certainly one of the most painful. I sanded about 3/16" off of my middle finger:rolleyes:, on my right hand on a disc sander in highschool woodshop. Bled more than you would think, it grew back though...eventually.

- Was drilling a larger pivot in a Spyderco Native blade, the bit stuck, spun the blade and sliced my left hand from palm right side, across and up the center of my thumb to the tip. One of those things were I knew how stupid what I was doing was, but did it anyway.
- Broken left arm at age 10: Compound Fracture, Concussion, Skin on left arm gone exposing muscle, right hand knuckles and wrist bone skinned to the bone, chin to the bone and a small section on forehead to the bone, Abrasions covering most of right side of face. Not sure if all of that constitutes a cut though.

My buddy was learning to play with a balisong and launched it across my car. He was in the back seat and I was driving. Hit the hand that was holding the steering wheel. By the time I wrapped my hand in a shirt there was blood everywhere. So much that I had to get the car professionally cleaned with some super power industrial vacuums because there was no way of getting the blood stains out. I only received 4 stitches but it was deep and it struck a vein.

Rushing/assuming drilling a soft material wont catch and this happened, 5 minutes before we were supposed to leave town:

When i was nine i was chopping ice with my ontario machete and slipped. I fell face first into the ice and the lanyard on the machete caught the blades momentum and swung it back towards me as i fell. it left a nice gash on my hand which was lucky considering it was aligned with my arm.

Does getting cut with a rock count? This is my youngest son and one of his many "war" wounds. Someone told him chicks dig scars and he just ran with it.

Sliced my right forefinger a couple of days ago while batoning wood with too small a knife. Healed pretty well now though :) Btw, is this realllly your son?? Cos if so that is MESSED. UPPPP. Well its messed up even if you dont know that person!!!

This isn't my story but it is worth sharing. My coworker was telling me about dropping acid while working at a deli. He was cutting meats on the slicer when he began to marvel at what he imagined where red ribbons floating in the air. He had cut himself on the meat slicer and was shooting blood with each pulse!

A few year ago I became close friends with my machete. Me and some buddies were gathering firewood at dusk to have a small fire in the backyard. I was working on a dried out sapping that had fallen over. Needless to say the machete took a bad bounce and wound up in my shin. It went down to the bone. After about 3 hours in the ER and 10 stitches later I was back in action.

Unfortunately no pics (was 30 years ago....). I was de-limbing, with my machete, some standing pine which was to be cut down for lumber. I used machete's alot (shearing Christmas trees as a summer job so gots lots of practice) and was having some "fun" away from Christmas trees.

So, i was practicing a jumping spin-cut and changing hands from primary to secondary. I hit the branch at a slight angle and the blade careened off the tree trunk and i felt a "punch" in my left thigh mid-way above the knee - it felt like someone trying to give me a "Charley Horse". Then i noticed my Levi's had a tear in them - about 3" - 4" long. I pulled it open and saw my leg, skin and then the gray muscle (no blood *yet*). Did i mention i was about 1/2 mile from home? I knew it was bad so i tried running, but couldn't and started limping - quickly. When i got to my house i yelled for my Dad and that i needed to go to the hospital. As i was standing behind house blood was seeping from my sneaker onto the sidewalk - it was "squishing" as we walked to the truck.

Did i mention i kept my machete's "shaving hair" sharp? Yea, like a freakin' scalpel - nearly as sharp as my skinning knife.

By the time we got to the Emergency (no Ambulances where we lived - too far out of town), i had lost about 2 units of blood, was passing out/going into shock. The ER doc had to stitch the muscle together and then the skin. If i had cut 1/2" lower i would have severed the thigh muscle tendon/band. I was on crutches for 2 months......

My mother still has the machete.

Count me in. This boo boo compliments of an Emerson CQC-7, when I was vivisecting a box. Someone on BF noted in the last few months that most of one's kitchen garbage consists of the air space in boxes and cans, so I was flattening a box and this is what happened.

............ Sadly When I was 17 I dropped my kabar. For some odd reason, my first reaction was kick.... I kicked it as it dropped and it bounced off the wall and it my jeep tire.......lucky my kabar was still good.. Jeep tire flat, foot massive gash on my foot from kicking the blade.

oh ya did i mention I was in sandals.....

Got bit by something while swimming in the river... :D. Actually I jumped into the muck and this is what happened. 3 internal stitches, 6 outer. Went over halfway across my foot.

Not sure. No antibiotics. It was almost three years ago on fathers day. I had to have some super deep shots that totally killed. They did x-rays but found nothing in it. So to this day I have no idea what cut me. Had to wait at the hospital for around 3 hours before they numbed me and stitched it up.

Broken glass of some sort i'd guess. I don't jump into water w/o shoes or sandals unless it's a pool!

after sharping a fixed blade i cleaned the edge with a paper towle and ran my thumb across the edge with the paper towel and then the scene from carrie played and my thumb was cut in half, funny thing is that it did not hurt at all until the next coulpe of days/weeks.

Years ago I saw an ad in a magazine (maybe Cutlery Shoppe, or something like it) where they took a Cold Steel folding knife and clamped the blade in a vice and tied 100 pounds to the handle. Fast forward a couple of weeks ... I get a new Gerber Gator and as I'm checking it out the ad crosses my mind. I didn't have a vice at hand so I grab the handle as tight as I could with one hand and pressed on the spine of the blade with the other as hard as I could. I don't know if the meat of my hand pressed the lockback in or it was due to a bad lock, or both, but the blade folded on my hand cutting to the bone on my left index finger. Not too smart... worst knife test EVER!

In school last year i was stabbed in the radial artery with a ball point pen and spurted blood about 4 inches out the top of my hand. Did'nt even feel anything. Made a loud distinctive pop sound when the pen left the artery from the suction. Same year, i was home and was playing with my buck vantage force and dropped it and tried to catch it and grabbed it against my leg. Then felt a wetness on my leg and looked to see a growing red circle on my leg. I went into the bathroom to patch it up with toilet paper and duct tape. That one did'nt hurt either but bled real bad. I did'nt even tell my dad because he was unemployed at the time and i did'nt want him spending money on a visit to the MAC center. So i put on new pants and tried not to limp for a few days.

8 stitches in my right leg from slipping with an exacto knife with the scimitar blade while carving a boy scout neckerchief slide. Fortunately at the time my aunt and uncle were visiting and he was a surgeon. I thought I was yelling my head off down in the basement and got no reaction so I climbed the stairs and opened the door at the top and said HELP I have cut myself. he had butterfly stitches in his docs bag and closed the gash up, 50 years later and the scar has faded a bit but none of my memory of what went down. The block of wood had a knot in it and that let the blade slip right over it and into my leg. Needless to say that neckerchief slide is still in my possession.
I just recalled running from the USAF movie theater in pouring rain towards my barracks and feeling and hearing my foot crush a beer bottle on concrete. DAYUM I bled like a stuck hog all the way down the barracks hall and into the bathroom to pick glass out of my foot.
