OK, so it's true I'm not a fanatic or anything, and I mean no offense at all. However, I sure would like to see a nice, satin finished INFI knife of a reasonable size that does not look like it was designed in a junior high lunch room. Camp cleavers, war swords, pork chops, bunker busters, AK47, battle sharks, hucks, etc, etc, etc. Battle grade, odd coatings, O2W. I guess I'm just not keen on them. One man's opinion, not worth all that much at that.

I'd just like to see a 4-5" drop point hunting knife that's not to thick with a nice micarta handle in satin INFI. I'd probably buy one of those, I think INFI is good stuff. I don't need a fatback warchop, battletrain thing. No offense to people who like those, truly. To me they just seem a bit...kitchy. A good quality knife speaks for itself, and Busses is certainly capable of making those.

Not exactly drop point but I think INFIMANDU would suite you about right...

My SOB (Son of Badger) fits the bill. I stripped the coating and it has been resharpened and polished up a bit since this pic... but I think it meets your criteria and is a great performer.

As for the sometimes craziness of all things Busse... I like to think it keeps things interesting.

I think something like a 4 1/2" CABS or a thinner SAR 4 would be great with a nice satin finish and comfy micarta scales. Then leave it in production for a while so folks could get one when they wanted to.

Great choice.. its like a smaller, lighter Ash1..good call on the SOB

SOS LE was that knife.

Also, Pork Shank is a legit utility knife of reasonable size.

MBC.

You have your pick, my friend.

I wish they would make one again, and for a while, is my point, I guess. The SOS looks pretty darn good, but it's been out of production for what, over a year now? The other two even longer. I'm just hoping for something like that to come along in this new iteration.

There is the Exchange or the "Wanted to Buy" forum option. The Bossman has his marketing strategy which based on results from Operation 2 Weeks filled the books and kept his crew busy all year. We all WANT but we're at the Mercy of Wauseon Compound for that elusive GRAIL....Boss I need a new FOLDER....:cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

We are all in anticipation of some new knives being released. With the release of the AK this week, everyone is chomping at the bit as to what might be next. Best of luck in your endeavor. INFI is good stuff, everyday I am astounded by it and its capabilities. It has surpassed even my best steels. The thing about Busse, is be patient, you never know what might pop up next.

I completely get Warbo150's point. What he described has been my EDC for over 6 1/2 years and is the one I would sell dead last.

I just picked up another SAR 4. Love that knife. Had 3 once and sold them thinking I would pick up another not knowing that they would dry up and be few and far between. That said I am with you on some of the wilder designs. I have always thought an AD upsized a little would be a perfect all around knife.

I think a BAE-2 LE would fit your wants dead on. I would love an LE satin with tiger micarta with a thickness of .22 or .25.

A CABS LE at .150" thick, or maybe a satin Leaner Meaner Street, might be what you're looking for.

It would be nice to be able to have a solid menu to peruse
I do miss the old days when there were several standard offerings always available, like the Satin Jack, BA-E, SH-E, BM-E and others.

Well, the company is called Busse COMBAT ... haha
