100%, I think it's worth it even with weak pulls.Pulls aside the ebony 77 yankee jack is one classy knife.
Update regarding my defective knife and dealing with GEC. The good news is that GEC replaced it with a good one. They received my knife last Saturday and I received the replacement today. Very happy with the turnaround time. Communication was non existent and that could have been better but I'm happy with the outcome.
Action on this one is as it should be. Good snaps all around and a pull of about a 6 on the main and slightly less on the pen blade.

A question to you, or anyone else's who's 77 needs a flushing.
Do you flush it with a cleaner/degreaser first? Or do you simply work in your new oil which will ultimately flush out the old?
I've always cleaned the knife and joints with simple green first, then re-oiled with mineral oil.
Any thoughts on this process?
My though behind this is to clean out the old (non-food grade) oil and work in my mineral oil before I cut food with it.
