So you're saying it was a Madhouse?

It was actually really quiet in there for once until they for done with their drill. After that it was the normal organized chaos.

Completely off-topic...

First lily of the season.

That is awesome, James! That was my mother's favorite flower and she loved her plants. We had hundreds of potted plants when I was a kid. I have the bulb of a tiger lily I gave her for mother's day years ago, it hasn't bloomed this year yet, nice to see your's has.

back from blade, laundry done, catching up on email and such.
I am also VERY happy to say Todd took the "stretched handle" Yuma/TWS template i gave him at the Becker Gathering and translated it to the M9/18 family as well.
He made more room by removing the forward guard and the bird's beak at the end of the scales. BK 12 for comparison and Becker content. :)

Niiiiice. Looks like a perfect fit for me.

heh. I told him 1/2-3/4" more, which is how I drew out the TWS/Yuma handles - he did this one with the same space between blade and butt and gave it fat scales, too.
Todd used it while fixing dinner Thursday, and I just used it to fix lunch - diced up taters, onions, carrots, a jalapeno and some summer sausage then fried it all up in a skillet.
holding the thing butt in the air that front edge push/rocker cuts stuff with authority.

This has been a fun week so far... Well Friday/Saturday my hot water heater decided to stop working. Basically it would cycle, then shut off snuffing out the pilot light with it. Messed with it Saturday night to no avail, then miraculously Sunday night I got the SOB working right! So it worked over night, but then Monday afternoon died again. I took it all the way down last night, messed some more until 4 AM with the dang thang, and well... Its still busted. Tried to go buy a new Thermocouple and junk today only to find out THEY DONT MAKE IT ANYMORE! Well, after more digging I find that Whirlpool recalled/stop making the part and you basically have to install a conversion kit in it to get it running. Apparently this is a very common problem with this particular unit. So now its cold showers until Thursday. Hopefully this kit will fix the problem cause I really dont want to buy/install a new hot water heater. It seems like everything's been breaking lately LOL. Nothing to do but fix it and move to the next. Cant complain too much cause at least I am fortunate enough to have a roof over my head, running water, and AC.

So, got back yesterday night at 1930. Ended up sicker than crap today... Not sure what is going on but it's life.
I went ahead and spent some time in a sauna today (one of the best ways to get over being sick imo) while I was there I took my "Seconds" BK-14 and the BK&T Whittlin' Stick and made myself a nice li'l toothpick.

Dang that sucks... Of course the proper answer is always the easiest which is burn down the house and make the contractor install a non-recalled unit when building the new house. :D

LOL! I see no problem with this idea.

BRB... gotta make sure there is not a "gas leak" or any "electrical failures" by the "running space heater" around the "clogged dryer vent" next to my gasoline, propane tank, and Illegal Mexican Firework Collection.... Probably should stack that massive pile of greasy rags and old lithium batteries over there too... for safety.... :D

Don't forget the Kerosene lanterns!

Hey guys, My Florida vacation is going well, took the family to a cayo costa island today to play on the beach. Its a uninhabited island in the gulf of Mexico. We all had a picnic, swam in the ocean and hunted for sea shells. We are all burnt and beat. Having fun.

In other news, I dont know if Murph has already linked it here or not. But he posted a cool give away in my sub forum. You guys ought to jump in, giving away some free shit!

Heck I keep those in the oven next to the black powder with all my miscellaneous crumpled up paper and that soldering iron that just wont turn off.... I used to keep my 50 gallon drum liner bag full of strike anywhere matches, aluminum shavings, and iron oxide in there but it was taking up too much room... So I put that next to the old furnace across from the bottles of oxy and acetylene.... Should be fine... Kinda tired... Should probably lay in bed and light up a cigarette, cigar, and pipe, while my damp socks dry over the fireplace... dang things got soaked in diesel while I was putting fertilizer on the front yard...
