"Yeller" Handles

Look at the nail nick on Sunnyd's Camillus. I don't think I've ever seen one like that. And the pewter fish...

Just showed up this morning. Along with my "Other" GEC and the Kopa used to open the package.

Well OK, I admit it.. I've been coming back in and out of this thread lurking checking out all the cool Yeller's, like Thawks recent posted spread and many others..

And.. now.. This unbelievably sweeet Yeller Bone GEC UN-X-LD of 'Jenner 515'..

Somebody help me.

Picked this one up off of ebay tonight. $23.50 +$4.85 shipping. Supposed to be in "mint" condition. 4 dot.

Come on Doug, that peanut looks way too pristine!

You need to go gut some pan fish with it. Fish guts put a very nice irridencent blueish patina on CV.

The blue patina sounds interesting. Funny, I was talking to my son the other night about my craving some nicely cooked Bluegill. Maybe, you're on to something.:D

Last time we cleaned Bluegill, we used our Swiss Army Knives, but maybe I'll have to give the Peanut a try. I can't say that I ever remember using something as small as a Peanut to gut fish, but I've enjoyed reading your stories about your father's Peanut and fishing. When it comes to the big Cats that we catch on chicken livers, from the creek which is the property boundary of our backyard, I'll admit I'm more inclined to grab my Buck 110. Not that the 110 is any better for the job (it's a bit fat) , it's just the one I've gotten used to using for all sorts of field dressing, through the years. That and the SAK which is always in my pocket.

Sorry for the pic quality, but I wanted to share a couple of recent yeller handle purchases. I've been interested in Moore Maker fixed blades lately, so I picked up a couple.

A good friend gave me this mini copperlock Tuesday, the day of my Mothers funeral.

He picked it up at a flea market last week. This was a very kind gesture on his part. It was in my pocket that day, and will be in my pocket every day.

The Stockman was a Christmas present.

A Near Year and more Yeller handled knives. Indeed. :)

This vintage Schrade, Walden, N.Y. U.S.A. gifted to me most recently by a good Pal here. The blades on this knife possess a near perfect light blue-grey patina with just a few spots and sharpened up well with just about 7-8 swipes stropping her blades on either side with dry leather. This knife reminds me of why I just love Schrade's good old hi-carbon steel so much..

Looks to be a nice, slim piece SunnyD
Greg

Absolutely Greg, she is a slim little gal indeed and I must also confess I love the quite pronounced serpentine designed frame of this Trapper as well. Schrade really hit the mark on this one.

Love to see a picture or two of your new Case peanut when you have a moment here.
