Get home, pull the battery for an hour or two, it usually is enough to clear the issue in the EMS.

I'll give that a shot later. I only have problems with it above 3k rpm. I feel like it could be a boost leak, because the turbos spool up slower then usual, and it feels sluggish under acceleration.

Great bear story James!

Reminds me of the summer camp I used to go to when I was a kid. There were always bears at the dumpsters in the middle of the night. We used to sneak out of our cabin and go watch them.

I have a hard time coughing up for the ****. I realize they are supposed to be "Hand Made quality, production quantity" or something like that, but still I just have a hard time doing it.

For lots of reasons, I do not recommend that company.

Great bear story James!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It still makes me smile after all these years :)

Yup, every time I think about getting a Barkie, I realize I can just go and make whatever I want myself. I'd like to see James' take on a Bravo 2.
Or the Bravo 3.....that thing looks like an absolute beast of a chopper.
It's not cruelty, it's keeping you in check.
Keeping me in check? How, by posting drool food porn and expecting me not to drool? I made ground turkey tacos with guacamole and rice for the family, and for myself had a salad with said taco meat and some pan roasted/fried little sweet peppers made with bacon grease, a little sugar. cumin and chili pow, with a homemade lime/chili/garlic dressing. But that Krekel's thing? Was still a little "in your face!" ;). Glad you enjoyed, Dubz. C-bear: I am not the one who called him a puckering starfish......you did.
I have a hard time coughing up for the Bark Rivers. I realize they are supposed to be "Hand Made quality, production quantity" or something like that, but still I just have a hard time doing it.
Found a Bravo 1 on the exchange for a very reasonable price; I will say that it is the sharpest knife I own. I think Dex said the same thing. Maybe the steel, maybe the full convex....I don't really know. The grinds are not exactly symmetrical; but that thing is an absolute pleasure to use. The Northeast Gathering attendees will get a chance to try it out should I still have it come autumn. I love my Beckers, but that Bravo is a different category.

in response to several conversations i didn't want to have, and a general trend of people being, shall we say "zero tolerance"...

i bring you this official message. pay heed.

iirc, spark is on record as saying that this here forum is not PG13. we are allowed to have a certain amount of discretion in our language, as long as we observed a few criteria.

generally, thou shalt not overtly insult another member, or their protected dogma as provided by general culture and law of the USA (gender, race, language, creed, etc, etc, etc)

a little profanity is iirc, not unwarranted, but should not be taken to extremes either. show some common sense.

reminders:

forum rule #1 '''
This site's been open since late 1998, so we've seen quite a range of behaviors here... but by and large our membership has been self policing and well behaved. We'd like to keep it that way, as such, here are some helpful guidelines on how you should act while you are here. First & foremost, remember the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have done unto yourself, in other words, BE NICE. When you are polite to people, they will tend to be polite back to you. '''

and here the appropriate section that makes me post today:

'''
Inappropriate Language
Seriously, I can't believe I have to explain this, but here goes:
Some of the forums on BFC have few or no limits. You can talk about whatever you want, however you want, as long as it doesn't break the other rules.
Most of the forums aren't this way - So don't talk about how you did something disgusting to someone, somehow, in a forum that isn't set up for that.
IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO TALK IN A FORUM, LURK BEFORE POSTING
This infraction can be issued as a warning. It lasts for 10 days. It counts as 1 point towards your total.'''

basically that means... yeah. don't be stupid, but this isn't church either, a few shits go a long way. don't like something? mention it to a mod. member should not be policing. *esp* in the Snark forums.

Rule #2 of the forum, 'RESPECT THE MODERATOR STAFF.' pretty much that. if you call a mod out, expect an answer.

Esp here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/faq.php?faq=faq_rules

while i'm at it, a major forum rule:

'''
Don't do something illegal, or post about illegal activities.
That means no threads about importing switchblades & balisongs to Canada, buying ballistic knives, or similar. No posting of warez, kiddie porn, or CC fraud.'''

a few of y'all skirt this one. don't post thing about your habits, hunting out of season, boasts (or actual admissions of guilt), violence, like that. we don't need it.

this is spark's house party. obey his rules. this is Ethan's mini-party. we have rules. Ethan abides. so should you.

this Sub-Forum has rules. so many of you break them ;) it's funny, because obviously you never read them. that's okay. kinda. still, it's indicative of those who read them. most violated rule?: ' Q: Which Becker should I buy first? ' lol

Well, the motor in my moms car blew. While I was one of many people at a Dunkin donuts drive through. Now I have to call my dad and tell him...

Do you own any? Not trying to be rude just a question, the reason I ask is because I've seen a lot of people say pretty much the exact same thing but have never owned one. Everyone who has one seems to love them.

you forgot the part about "other reasons". you might want to ask about that.

a company can have the best product on the planet, but you might object to the color of their logo, the shape of their logo, or the way they hang their logo. that's all you need.

it's not about quality. but quality. if you get what i mean.

for instance, ever been told not to shop or buy from a certain major corporate presence? like a common complaint with walmart is how they treat their employees. course, i would almost bet a donut, most people don't actually have a clue about that treatment, but they base their entire argument on that point, and it's valid nonetheless.

So if I bought a BRKT, but didn't buy it from the company, I should be able to lay my head on the pillow at night with a clear conscience, right? Dammit, now I gotta find out what I participated in supporting, even second hand....

Well said.

the court of opinion :D

guilty!

if thou shalt do a thing, even if that thing is not the thing but LOOKS like the thing to a third party, it shall be the same as the thing?

possesion in 9/10ths though! your soul! pea green soup! bleah! argh argh argh!

Car got towed. Parents aren't as pissed as I thought they'd be, but still mad (at the car mostly)

Guilty as charged (I think?). Since it doesn't appear the knife was manufactured with kidnapped slave labor, or have a trademarked hole, I'll reserve judgement for the knife itself. A quick internet search reveals not much of substantiated value (opinion, yes), and less egregious behavior than the corporate management of certain other manufacturers and world dominating megastore entities......so I'm just going to enjoy it until I have a reason to be upset with the quality or performance of it. Purchased used, from another individual (who most certainly lost money on the deal), I see no reason to find problems with which I have no direct (or indirect, FWIW) experience. It's not like I purchased a nuke from a third party....it's just a knife, made in the USA. I can tell, because the grinds are not symmetrical. Not that I care.
