You ever really wanted to like a knife but couldent?

busse/swamprat/scrapyard. the huge choil and the overall styling it's just too fugly to me which is too bad because i've heard great things about infi, etc.

I never really warmed to the Sebenza until I got one at a very decent price. I had that for a short while before it went and I missed it until I got another one.

I really tried to like my CG Battle Mistress (Busse) but couldn't. The pull just wasn't there.

Spyderco Paramilitary, and Persistence

I gave a new persistence to my brother cause I didn't care for it, but every time he leaves it with me to sharpen I regret giving it away

Large BM Grip handle feels cheap, love the orange color and size....Nothing but love for the mini

Para for me. I just cant get used to the Short blade. I modified the handle

so its long enough now. I love my millies thou.:D

Several... that Military - the BM 741 - most Busse's, but that may be their close-knit fraternity or designed exclusivity, not the physical product - and, finally, the Boker Haddock... kinda.

The Haddock needs explanation. I nixed it on my earlier review/inspection - but a return visit landed it in my collection. Sometimes, you eat crow. There may yet be a Busse in my future... it'll have to have a sheath...

Stainz

I really can't think of a knife that I have had my hands on, that I did not pretty much dig. But I have a sweet spirit, too.

I'm not totally hip on the Manix II or Sage II, but don't dislike them enough to sell them.

Military for me. It just felt funny as I held it. It's very well made, just can't make it work for me. Expensive lesson.

Mine is the ESEE 3. wanted one awful bad. Got it Wednesday and sold it today. Just couldn't stand the blade. Each time I got it out to use it I had to resheath it, just couldnt stand the looks of it. I liked what I saw on the web, but wasn;t the same in hand.

i forgot about that. i'll add the esee-3 & 5 to my list. they just don't feel right in my hands. love the other esee knives i have though but i hate the 3 & 5.

Griptilian. I love the handle, the weight and the axis lock. Unfortunately, the blade shape is useless and the serrations poorly designed. It s too bad, because it would otherwise make a great edc.

You do know they come in different blade shapes and you have the option of plain edge right?

for me it would be anything with a recurve. I got an emerson commander, and the kershaw spec bump with high expectations, and wasn't thrilled with the result. fit and finish is great, just the shape of the blade that doesn't sit right.

Kershaw Leek, hated the lock, blade shape far too delicate.
Kershaw Junkyard Dog II ,liked everything, but that damn clip.Ruined the whole knife for me.

SwampRat Battle Rat,I was expecting an excalibur due to all the hype. It's a good knife, but nowhere near great..

Maybe this makes me a knife nerd but here goes...

Lapin Puukko Hunter...Really like the handle. The blade shape is kind of funky and stubby relative the the big ergo handle. I expected a scandi grind blade and got a secondary bevel. Sheath was just terrible and actually smelled bad...burnt hair or something.

Very disappointed by this $80 knife.

Contrasted with Moras and Helles and Bruslettos and Rosellis, all of which I like a lot.

Ditto for me on the Emerson Commander (full size). Just could'nt like it after I bought it.

Yes, I learned my lesson, I should have gotten the plain, not the serrated. The serrations are recessed in the blade, which is a terrible design, they always snag at the indent.

As for the blade shape, I only got the 'modified sheepsfoot' one because of the opening hole. I much prefer holes to studs. For whatever reason, the drop point ONLY comes with the stud. I wish they would change that, I might give them a second chance!

I have a couple knives like this.

More baffling, though, I have some knives that I should probably dislike, for various reasons. But instead, they repeatedly find their way into my pocket, or simply gain my respect for one reason or another.

SMF...i felt it was over priced and carried horribly...i also hate the stupid spanner type pivot...i really liked the design and look of it, and wanted to like it more than i did

Two sebenzas, and both sold...i liked my first one, regretted getting rid of it, second one was a nightmare and i prolly wont buy another
