You ever really wanted to like a knife but couldent?

RC5. Handle was made for king Kong! And boxy as all get out! But really that is it with the RC5. The Handle. If it had more contour...maybe. Does anyone have the BK2? I am considering because it is around 1/2 the cost!! Plus I want to put a Convex grind on it.

For me, it's everything in the Spyderco line.

I've held them, I've used them. You can feel the outstanding material and construction quality. They're solid, they're built tough, and they're sharp as dragon's teeth. I would love them except that I can't get over how silly they look. I don't like the design of most Spyderco knives - particularly how they've adopted the thumb-hole as their brand icon, and carried it over to knife designs that don't need it (like their fixed blades).

Having used them, I know exactly why people love them. But Spyderco is one of those rare exceptions for me where the appearance of something has prevented me from liking and using it, even in spite of its outstanding quality.

Small Sebenza and Spyderco Native. The Sebenza didnt have enough substance to it (if that makes sense), while the Native was maybe the most uncomfortable knife I've ever held. I thought it was designed specifically to fit the human hand? Musta broke the mold with me :D I love spyderco and may try another CRK model, but those two don't do it for me.

Benchmade Sibert. I was looking forward to picking one up, until I checked one out at the shop. Too heavy and the blade shape not well suited to EDC. Love the look though.

SMF...i felt it was over priced and carried horribly...i also hate the stupid spanner type pivot...i really liked the design and look of it, and wanted to like it more than i did

Two sebenzas, and both sold...i liked my first one, regretted getting rid of it, second one was a nightmare and i prolly wont buy another

I'm just curious what was the nightmare with a Sebenza?

Spyderco Gayle Bradley for me. My Sebenza and BM 710 did take me a long time to warm up to, but then, I like my Mini-Grip a lot.

Seconded. I can't for the life of me buy one because of how they look. I guess I never got used to how the thumb-hole looks. They function incredibly, btu I do agree they look silly to me.

How do you know how incredibly they function if you never bought one?

I'd have to go with anything by TOPS. I really like a number of their designs from an ergo and utilitarian standpoint, but I just have a lot of trouble paying what they charge for 1095. Maybe somebody'll jump my back for this one, but they'd be hard pressed to change my mind... 'Course I have been wrong before....a lot.....according to my girlfriend....
