If someone were to give me $800 and say, "Go order a knife!," I'd grab me a Medford Infraction.
It checks a lot of boxes of things I don't have in my collection. E.g., I've never owned a Medford.
And I just love the drop point blade design. I've been drooling over this one for some time now:

I'd buy a custom. I'd either commission one or buy a used one off BF for sale sub-forum. I have 5 or 6, mainly slipjoints but 2 are liner locks, and all cost less than $800.

Large CRK Unique, or any other CRK. I would also highly recommend Oz Roosevelt if you can win one for $800, Any Koenig, Shiro Neon if you’re looking for something compact. CKF Evo 4.0 because it’s just bad ass.

Don’t buy any Medford new, next to Olamic, I’m not sure any other knife brand loses so much value the moment it drives off the lot and I have no idea why, he makes really solid knives and has a huge following(supply and demand I suppose). Conversely, you can buy Medfords for $200-$300 off their original price tag in like new or even still new condition, so that’s good in a way I guess.
