You have $800, what folder do you get with it?

$800 is an awkward place to be.
Almost enough money to get 2 really, really nice knives such as 2 CRK or indeed a tricked Infraction or entry level shiro, yet very close to the edge of madness (Oz, Holt, Grimsmo, insertyourfavoriteoverhypedmakerhere).

I learned a valuable (to me) lesson recently. Just because you have a certain amount of money doesn't mean you have to spend it all on one knife or even spend it all. I was planning an expensive knife purchase but ended up grabbing a $32 Buck 112 Slim Select at the hardware store and I've been having a ball. I've also bought 3 more Buck 112's since then and it's just become my current thing. My point, look at all levels and you may shock yourself.

In the $800 range I’d like to try the Eustler duk. I think it’s a beautiful looking knife and curious to check one out. However, I just don’t see the value in that price range considering diminishing returns. Might as well spend a little more for a one of a kind custom.

bladerunner01 bladerunner01 welcome to bf! Post away bro, no complaints here!

For $800 you should experience a Shirogorov at some point in your journey - they are astounding good. Probably second hand on the exchange.

And like a CRK, you'll get your money back if you decide it's not for you.
Unfortunately I'm not a fan of Shirogorov designs at all. My buddy has one, it's nice, but it's just not appealing to me at all.

You’d love the DUK brother. It’s a Hell of a knife. So smooth.

i am old school.would like an old microtech atcf or chameleon if available.
‘cause such things not in production for long time and likely will not be in production.

I would get a Spyderco Magnacut PM2 and a nice fixed blade. I have had some fairly expensive folders, but my favorites are the M2 and PM2, so I personally wouldn’t spend more for a folder now.

I've been into fixed blades lately but if I had to spend it on a folder, I'd probably get a large Spartan Harsey Folder with a cool custom engraving.
