you know you're a knife guy when...

...

When you can relate to 90% of the posts in threads like these...
When you've got more knives than you need.

When faced with a simple but uncommon cutting task, you grab a handful of knives just to see how each one performs.

When you don't go somewhere if you can't have your blade. When your pajamas have to have pockets for a blade:-)

Oh yeah, and a decent drawstring so you can carry that heavier knife if you want to! Add basketball type shorts for biking or jogging or whatever activity to the pocket requirement too.

Hehe..I'll chime in..

When it takes five minutes to get your belt on bc of your EDC goodies..small fixed-blade, folder, multi-tool, led light, cell phone, edc pouch, carabiner with keys.. :D

When you refer to a knife or multitool as, "The preeeecccciiiiiioooouuuuuuuuusssss!!"

When you deploy your 7" fixed blade from its kydex sheath to open a bag of peanuts on a commercial airliner.
How did you get a 7" fixed blade in its kydex sheath on board a commercial airliner?
Honest question.
When friends complain about my obsession with knives, but ask for one at the drop of a hat or bring their kitchen crap to me to sharpen after they use one of mine. :D

when u r watching a dvd and a knife comes out : hit pause, rewind, and slo-mo with zoom to congratulate yourself on a positive ID.

It is a cycle of life thing with me.

1. My Dad always carried a gents knife - always..got a new one when the old was sharpened to a splinter.
2. My brothers and I always had Boy Scout knives as kids..school and all.
3. Office poke for +40 years - always carried a gents knife - usually a Kershaw..got well over 20 years on one- Kershaw replaced when I dropped and ruint pivot area.
4. Retired >13 years ago...my EDC gents knife is now an auto

I'll skip the machetes, bayonets, sheath knives and miscl folders but had them all.

Here's a picture of an EDC option;
