Forecast for a few degrees warmer here today and some more rain. Don't know if the leaves are changing colors, but the bean fields are starting to change colors.
 
slight rain yesterday if you could call it that... well at least it got the ground wet for a little bit...

leaves are turning around here but its not their choice everything is dying in green country, I feel like I'm in the desert...

Damn. Another future politician.

We had a rain cell move through this morning like nothing I've seen in years. Lightning and thunder like in the Hollywood sci-fi movies. We had a nearby flash with an instantanious boom that went on and on for about 20 seconds, with a second rumble of a different frequency coming in on top. It was playing a duet! When the weather guy on TV showed the lightning tracker graphic you couldn't even see the State map under all the little graphics of each lightning bolt.
I've been around a number of years and even lived through an Asian monsoon season, and I don't remember anything as violent as this morning. At least two house fires were started by this cell.
 
Just talked to my mom, shes almost 67 and is retired......shes working 76 hours this week. I asked her why the heck she was working so much...I guess someone had to have emergency surgery and none of the other people she works with would pick any hours up, so she did. I guess I'm the same way, but it bugs me that shes supposed to be enjoying life, not working like crazy.

Sounds like a heck of a storm. I've driven through a few insane storms like that.....usually when I'm doing 25 down the interstate its because of ice and not because its raining that darn hard.
 
Hey K9, my 'rents reported the same thing - they're about 50mi north of you.

Bladite, you must be getting it right now too.

We're juuuuust south of the southern boundary by a few miles and have been getting rain on and off since before dawn. There's a flood watch in effect. I heard a bit of thunder earlier.

Actually what I said about not being heard wasn't true...I was in a bad mood and I appologise for my remarks and overstated issue.

Anyone know if a 32oz nalgene with one of nalgenes insulated sleeves on it will fit in one of the max, condor, or 511 water bottle pouches?

Man, am I jealous. That is perfect weather.
Our forecast says 108 for today! But it should cool down for the weekend, all the way down to 105!
I can't wait to get out of Vegas...
 
Mmmm... Legendary bacon. Around here Nueske's is the stuff to get.

Sitting on a jury today. First time, so its very interesting.
