Dangit mountainmist, now i dont know what to get! The only problem i have is the handles on the bk16

The ESEE has better Ht (imo), the coating is a bit better(imo), the sheath is better(imo), the Warranty is perfect(imo), the scales are better quality(imo), the grind lines are far better in my experience, for about $20 more. But the scales are uncomfortable, that's a deal-braker for me. They may not be uncomfortable to you though......

Whats your problem with the scales on the bk16?

This is what I have in my room. Im not that gun crazy. Im just a bit redneck haha. My buddies and I do a lot of skeet shooting so my Remington 887 sees a lot of use. There's a good bit of land around where my friends and I live, so we do a fair bit of hunting and fishing. Every time we walk the woods looking for squirrels or something I have the 887. The other 4 guns were all given to me from my dad, who was given the guns from his dad. The M1 Carbine and the SKS my grandpa brought back from Vietnam. My dad refinished both of them, but you can still see the stains on the SKS. I take the SKS hunting some too haha. Im looking at the Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle in .308 for my birthday. Anyway sorry for the bad picture and lighting. I stopped getting ready for school to snap this picture.:D

I'll post pictures of my collection today at some point.

Oh definitely. Still the best thing I ever saw through to the end.

As for the 6, I like the way it feels. Good balance and slices pretty well for its size. I'm sure the TKC scales will do wonders for the ergos, but I've never handled them on a 6. What niche are you trying to fill with it?

In between the BK17 and the Battle Rat chopper. That way, I'll have a BK14, the BK17 tweener, the ESEE 6, and the Swamp Rat chopper.

funny, I have the exact same size line up: bk14, bk16, bk9. I have been wanting the becker bk10 or the ritter/becker bk12. I like the looks of the esee 6 but hate the choil and it dosn't feel good in my hands

How often do you get out and use your fixed blades? Here in the sticks of KY I use them every day. I use a knife, on an average day 15-20 times. Although I am home schooled.

Quite often. I like to use them to chop/baton fire wood for our wood stove, and the smaller knives for everything else. My family has a working ranch in Wyoming on the shore of a mile long lake, so it will be fun to use them there next summer.

I just ordered a 5" custom in M4 and G10 as a lightweight knife for a 50 mile backpacking trip my family will do next summer. (Hiking to Gannet Peak and back in 5 nights.)

I use my knives for wood stove wood processing all the time (feather sticks and splitting kindling), good practice for the woods.

Good to see you younger folks stretching your knife wings. It is a learning experience and what you like today may not be what you prefer next year. BK-16 vs BK-17.... drop vs clip. That's why you have choices. I looked at a BK-10 the other day and decided I'm not ready to buy one, but I did buy a BK-24. The BK-10 is appealing.

I like the factory handles on the BK fixed blades. I find them very comfortable and prefer them to the ESEE handles. However, the ESEE handles are nicer to look at. Now you guys need to start looking at Falkniven and Bark River knives. It's a big world out there.

Im 18. I gusse I started collection when my dad gave me my first knife, I was about 5 then. It took me a few years to find out about qaulity knives. So alot of my collection is stuff like smith and wesson that I bought early on. I also started maknig knives when I was about 13. Just got a kmg grinder about a year ago. It makes a huge differance. Im working on making a ht oven now too.
here are some pics if you can tell what they are. Not shown are my recently purchased xm-18, small insigio sebenza and bm 63.

as far as guns I have a few of them too. I just finished putting together an ar-15. I built it to national match specs so it does not have a lot accesories.
I get most of my knife money from working at my neighbors farm, but when I graduate next semmester I hope to get a better job. Im taking machine tool.
I never realised there were so many younger people on here. most people that live around here don't know much about knives. At least the ones that I know.

To shoot of course. I personally am not hung up on AR's, but eventually I'll probably buy one. It's a money thing and I know I won't shoot it much. Costs too much to feed.

why would you need an ar-15?
Why would you need a knife?

A rifle is like a knife in that they are both simply tools. Regardless, "need" has nothing to do with it. Don't you find it odd you wonder why he'd need a particular rifle and not question why he'd need so many knives?

ar-15 is a tool? i guess there's a need for one if you live down by the border, but other than that...

Nice collection! Why do you need so many knives? Why an AR15? Because we are citizens of the US, are allowed to own weapons per the Bill of Rights, and they are awesome!
