Young Knife collectors/users?

What about guns? Anyone like guns?
Quite a bit actually but gun collecting is much more expensive of a hobby (and my GF loathes gun collecting[but enjoys shooting them immensely]) but I do have a decent collection. No pics but I think it would be difficult to squeeze them into one pic :D. Anyway heres what I got in order of largest to smallest caliber;
Mossberg 500
A war pick up KAR-98k
A Rem. 700 AAC (.308)
A Yugoslavian SKS (I really like post war and WWII rifles)
S&W 629 stealth hunter
Springfield 1911
And a heavily modified ruger 10/22

ar-15 is a tool? i guess there's a need for one if you live down by the border, but other than that...
Yes, an AR15 is a tool as is your car and as is your knife. Again, it ain't about need anymore than your choice of pocket knife or your choice to even own a pocket knife is about need.

As respectfully as possible, if you continue this conversation I think it would be best to take it off line or to visitor message. This topic is a quick way for the thread to get close, because of non knife related subject matter and because this kind of conversation tends to get heated. It's up to you of courses. :)

What difference does it make? As an aside, I've never seen an AR15 in a combat zone.

Had to laugh at that one

Its great to see so many youngsters enjoying this hobby.
When I was a teen a USMC combat/utility, US Pilot Survival Knife , Cub Scout utility, and a Swiss Army knife were my entire collection.

My ,now teenage , son already has far more knives than I ever did. Glad to know he isn't the only one.

14 here. Just recently started about 8 months ago with a Benchmade Adamas 275, now I've also got a ZT0560BW. So far these are pretty much the only two that I've got since I've yet to get a job. Can't wait to get more though! (Will the addiction ever end?)

What a first knife! Wow! Wish my first knife was an Adamas.
I'm 18.
It took me a couple years to find quality cutlery.
I got stuck into Gerbers for a while.
Then my CS Mini AK-47 came along for X-mas, and then I found this site a couple months later.
My wallet has never been the same.
I have more traditionals than anything, but my Adamas is my favorite.

Same! The Adamas was one of my favorite knives of all time, I regret trading mine very single day. Currently trying to buy it back :D

Agreed.

why would you need an ar-15?

Cards94, you are a perpetual naysayer. If I were a mod, which I am absolutely NOT, I would suspect you of trolling.

An AR-15 and other similarly designed firearms are weapons. There is no need for rhetoric. Why would you need one? To defend yourself, those under your protection, and your property. That defense could be against any aggressor, whether criminals, wild animals, an invading force, or a tyrannical homeland threat. This right to defend oneself with weapons is clearly defended in the bill of rights. The second amendment is not for hunting or even simply for home defense. It is just another line of defense put in place in our social contract to allow the people of the United States to defend themselves from any threat. Please do not enter a thread for young knife enthusiasts and denounce their need for a gun they built. Rather, we should praise someone with enough drive and intelligence to pursue a totally legal and legitimate interest.

What a pair to start with! Both on my list.

My first self purchased knife was a Spyderco Caly 3.5. I used it a lot, and hard. I swam with it and cut dock lines, ran orienteering courses, and rolled down mountains hunting and never lost it. Of all places, I left it in an Applebee's. I miss it.

Exactly. Cards94, you never said you were a teen, and you only seem to want to cause trouble, so would you mind not posting here again?

Also, please do keep it to the topic of knives. (Not talking about you, ALLHSS.)
