Your All-Time Busse Favorites?

Hello, everyone.

At present, in my Busse stable - I have:
1) Fusion Battle Mistress
2) Badger Attack-tac handle
3) Custom Tank Buster (limited edition with top swedge sharpened)

4) and my favorite of all: limited edition G10 handled, Anniversary Straight Handled Battle Mistress

The ASHBM is my favorite. It rides in a custom leather sheath from Patriot Leather. If I could only take one knife - destination unknown - this one would be it.
Great job, Busse!

It has to be NMSFNO for me. It's weight to usability ratio is the highest for me. The zero convex edge is easy to maintain too and the hand smoothed handle fits like gloves.

You should if you get the chance. The B8 is having a hard time trying to unseat it as my fav 8" do it all knife [emoji4] plus it looks stunning too

It's too bad that the only satin ones that I know of are "being held hostage" on the auction site. Solid background. Bad grammar in the description. It's awful that I get as upset about things like that as I do.

I think the custom shop has still NMSFNO blanks. You can get one in satin. I am getting mine delivered on Tuesday by UPS.

It better be the ASH 1. Right Andy? I only have eleven of them. And searching for more...;-)

You said you were after a no choil ASHBM, I've had both no choil and choiled models and they have the exact same cutting edge length. You're reason for not wanting choil was to extend the edge, just saying it doesn't equate to doing this with that model unfortunately.

I was more astonished that the cutting edge isn't increased by leaving out the Choil. Good to know. Now. On to other matters. THIS:

One of my new favorites.

Second would probably be the SJTAC. I had an early fascination with big Bussekin blades, still own them all (ASHBM; Battle Rat; Dogfather), but recent trend is towards medium sized models. Anyone else experience this?...;-)

I personally prefer all my blades to have a choil, IMHO *I* think it makes a more usable tool out of a knife especially as I have found little use for that part of the blade (that I cant have by choking up on a choil) anyway.

Yes tuica the ASH is still by far my favourite (thankfully given the number residing at home ... ;) ). I also loooove my BIG Busses though... :D :D If there was to be only one... it would still be the ASH ...!

I've found this to hold pretty true for me, the biggest problem I find with the big blades is they are a major PITA to carry on body. If you can put it in a pack that's great….. IF you've got a knife on body. But I'm not one to consider something in my pack to be a given, shit happens and when things go south and you gotta move fast the pack will be dumped in a hurry.

The Basic 8 is about as big as I can go on body without too much drama, yet I'm a pretty small guy believe it or not. But something this size forces carry on the hip, I'd really prefer to have it up front near the center line of the body for easy access with both hands. In this instance, 5" blades seem to be about the right compromise of comfort and reach (poking capacity if you will…. ;) )

Once that big chopper that feels great doing what it's designed for is acquired, there's really nothing more to do but find the blade that will be on your person, ALL THE TIME. If you count an Ergo Badger Attack "medium" that's the one for me. Otherwise the above tankbuster would rule the roost. Feels great!
