For me, it's been the S&W Military & Police spring assist.
Been carrying for a couple years now and has not let me down yet.
I am a Tanto fan and for my applications, the blade length is perfect. Plus, I like the fact this one has a safety switch/glass breaker where my Kershaw doesn't.

I'm going to have to go with my Ontario Rat I. It is my main EDC knife. I have been carrying it for some time, and I have put it to many uses, from the usual things like opening boxes and slicing fruit and cheese, to cutting rope and even cutting some tough PCV plumbing pipe when I needed to do an emergency repair, hardware stores were closed and I didn't want to drive 35 miles each way to go home and get my saw.

I hesitate to even call it a budget knife, even though it is inexpensive. I usually think of "budget knives" as Sanrenmu, Ganzo, etc. Just like I don't think of a Spyderco Tenacious or some of the nice Chinese Kershaws as "budget knives".

Ontario Rat I - if you EVER find a better knife for the same or less money, BUY IT! then PM me and let me know. I want one, too.

Pretty much all of my knives are budget. I'll need to put 'em all together for a group photo, but I've been EDC'ing a Mora Pro Flex, and before that I spent several years switching between a Pocket Bushman and an Opinel No.8. Sometimes I'll carry a Byrd Meadowlark Rescue in full serration when I'm cutting a lot of fibrous stuff.

Byrd rescue 2 and a Pallares Solsona.

Well before it became a safety hazard, a Kershaw lifter. Now it's a frontier "all Americans" aa-41 until Christmas when I'm gettin new knife

Vic Waiter -

I don't leave home without it.

El Cheapo Camillus Cuda...... I bought it on a whim for 35.00 at Lowe's maybe 10 years ago...it's been my EDC ever since.

I've actually bought maybe 15 other knives to try and replace it.... but for one reason or another....they all fail to measure up....everything from Cold Steel to Extrema Ratio....I just can't leave this knife behind....it's always done everything I've ever asked of it and ready for more.

Done Riley! Just bought.
I'm a former LEO so yes, I can use this on my present job.
