I’m sure I’m not alone in this but the last year did not go how I thought it would. I have never had less free time in my life than this last year. I’m a clinical administrator in a residential and outpatient facility so quarantine for me consisted of still going to work every day and if I wasn’t doing that it was doing home schooling with a kindergartner and a second grader who need a lot of hands on help. Their schools are fortunately in person now. The knife itself didn’t get much work after the last pictures I think. I redid at least one if not both of the secondaries and got everything fitted and functional. I would have had to add bolsters or create new liners and do a fair amount of finishing to make it decent. It didn’t seem worth the effort to be honest. I was hoping for something larger and with a longer main than the grinling but the blade needed to shortened to fit. In the end it was fun to work on and figure everything out but a finished product would add nothing to my life and if it doesn’t do that it’s not worth it.
Scrimshandry.

You are very handy.
Thanks, John. The lathe is relatively new, so I’m still figuring things out. I’ve been playing around with yo-yos since I was a little kid. It’s fun to mess around with them with my kids now. I guess the take-apart design makes these “modern traditionals”.You are very handy.
They look fun to make and fun to play with.
Great looking knives. My wife bought me a forge last year. I've forged two knives so far (and made 3 stock removal).
So I'm brand new at it.
I've only forged two knives. Top one is 10xx steel. First forged knife. (Bottom is 15n20 stock removal, but first knife I heat treated in my new forge).

Holy cow. That’s amazing! Just the finish work alone is impressive, not to mention all the lathe work first. Really beautiful.I can't be trusted with sharp objects

I have a relatively new lathe, but I’ve been scared to try to tackle a bowl project.

I’ve been enjoying the lathe more than I thought I would. I can definitely see the therapeutic side to it.Thank you my friend, I have been going at it for the past few days.
Woodturning is a sort of therapy for me as it helps me deal with stress through periods when it gets a bit much.
I am happy as this year I have been able to do it much more( it helped that I came in contact with a source for wood. Procuring wood was always the hard part for me )
Go for it my friend, it's just practice, some broken bowls and a lot of you tube instructional videos watched
I find turning wood sort of hypnotizing LOL
Wonderful work!
