Your COVID19 responses (projects you’re doing), let’s see ‘em, and mine (86 splitback whittler mod)

I’ll be there! :D hehe.
Excellent work there. What do you use as a sealant coat? Or nothing at all?

Thanks for the compliment. I use Carnauba wax for the finish. I intend to explore different dyes on the next 3. All I have at the moment is Rit fabric dye. Hoping to find some leather dye...

That is the neatest thing ive seen in awhile.
Thanks :)

Here's the last pair I made. Same African Mahogany, but with aluminum cores instead of the phenolic backing.

Lots of interesting projects and hobbies being shown above and I'm enjoying getting a look at it all.:thumbsup:

I've been mostly still working but not as much so I've had more free time to make up some primitive self bows and arrows of late. Left to right are bows of hop hornbeam, birch and buckthorn made for granddaughters. Then we have an Osage split bow stave with bark still on. Next is a osage bow I started for a son in law from a split stave. Lastly are 3 recently finished bows of osage, black locust and black locust.

Yes! These are also fantastic! As a bowhunter myself (compound), I am so interested!
My brother-in-law is a traditional bowhunter so I cant wait to show him your work.
Just beautiful.

You know, every once in a while, its refreshing to see a photo of some creativity other than a knife. Yes, I said it. ;)

^^^^Ditto.
Thanks Joel, I appreciate the comment. I also like the looks of the pipes, hope you're able to have your campfire with family this year.

Thank you

Glad to see folks using the time to get stuff done.
I picked up a very rusty sewing machine some time ago that someone had thrown out & collected some other bits n pieces with an idea I'd seen online, there they stood...... & stood......
Until a few days ago..... ;)

Thank you

Absolutely. Bowhunting is on another level. The balance, the pull, the thwack, the concentration. No other feeling like it. My brother and I ground hunt, no blinds, other than some sticks or leaves. Its very personal...sometimes even hard to take the shot. Anywho...we could chat all day...:D
Again, some beautiful work there.

Awesome thread. First day off in weeks and I just I’m just getting the yard ready for spring but enjoyed the break to browse your projects.

Here's another project I've been working on. We're in the process of redoing some stuff in our kitchen. We decided not to get new cabinets, but at some point, there will be a new countertop. With everything on hold right now with contractors, we're trying to keep things moving on the project. I worked on these over and under cabinet lights this weekend. I have a little more work to do on them, but all in all, I'm pleased.

I forgot how much I love spending time in the shop...
That's where I'm most at home, and sometimes I just sit out there listening to music.

My projects are more often not knife related though.
Hopefully my next knife project doesn't take too long to arrive in the mail.

Btw looking good on that pocket sheath so far

Things I play with in isolation. The rapier is a Darkwood with sidesword blade (actually their destreza blade I have used for years in sidesword classes), the smallsword I just slapped together from parts I happen to have. The "military smallsword" is made of a Windlass saber quard + Zen warrior armory musketeer blade and pommel, blade is sharp-tipped.
