Your Crowning Achievement for 2006 Please post pictures

Out of the smaller knives I made this year this one was my favorite.

wow....I saw that in one of the mags. You guys outdid yourselves. But I was particularly amused that you had to make it in a rather tiny and non-authentic caliber because of draconian anti-gun laws. I have always wanted to try to hold up a liquor store with a 16th century combination matchlock musket/battle axe....:D

I can imagine robbing a liquor store with that one! I bet you would get on the 11:00 news! You would have to dress like a pirate to make it all work. :D

yeaaaaaaah, boy!!!! gonna go Cortez on yo azzzzzzz!!!!!!!:D

This is the first blade that I ever made for myself. Used it this year for hunting season and was really happy with the way it performed.

Differentially heat-treated 0-1 ground in a continuous taper from 3/16 stock(hand-rubbed finish), nickel silver bolsters, ss tube pins, green canvas micarta over white spacer material.

It's not nearly as elaborate as some of the stuff in this post (which all looks amazing, by the way) but it gets the job done and it was a great learning experience.

Thanks for looking

This one is at the top of the heap for me in 2006. I call it "Midnight", and the blade is Bertie Rietveld's Dragonskin damascus. Scales are O-1 engraved and inlaid in 24K gold by Jim Small. The whole package was hot blued after the engraving was finished.

I REALLY like the handle shape on that one, Don.
That thing is stunning!

Here are mine. A full 12 steak knife set that I was very proud of!

Brian,
How long did it take you to superimpose 12 steak knives next to each other?:D
Happy Holidays,

When I saw that knife, I thought it was the PERFECT hunting/belt knife. The proportions on it are just - perfect!
You really nailed that one.
Betcha can't make another one just like it!

Karl, Thanks! Even if I had made a pattern for the blade there's no way to duplicate the stag. I will try and make one close to it again in 07.

What's not well about that? i'd love a nice butter knife with a hammon ! That'll be a project for me once i'm at that point =)
