Your Crowning Achievement for 2006 Please post pictures

I did manage to finally reproduce an older design I've been wanting to do for awhile to go along with the Nessmuk and Kephart reproductions I do. It's a version of the Hudson Bay knife from the fur trade era.

Getting my shop working at last! Now if I can just find the time to make some stuff in it :foot:

Dan ,that's impressive but it need about a year of dirt and grime to look like a real shop !!

Yeah!
If you have a fireplace, you could splash a bunch of soot around on those squeaky-clean white walls. That should help if you're in a hurry.

Hmm, maybe a closeup will help :D The dots are where steel dust has collected
over nail heads under the paint.

The blade is my largest attempt yet. Almost 10" of blade on a camp knife.

Nice work.

HIJACK ALERT!!!!

A quick word of advice from someone that has leaned the hard way....
Get covers for all outlets and light switches that are that close to the 'dust blast' from your grinder. The dust collects inside and eventually ... "POW!" Also, you'll want to put your VFD in a box to keep the dust out of the vents or it'll surely blow too.
(One thing I've done on the VFD on my bandsaw was to take the cover off and line the vent (open) areas from the inside with that thin air-conditioner filter foam that you can get in sheets at the hardware store. This, I suppose, at least helps keep a good amount of dust out, though I'd put it in a sealed box around a grinder.

Good luck.

END OF HIJACK!!

What brand of buffer is that? Looks like a real Hoss! Wish I had that kind of room. I have a hard time just getting around in my shop. It is tiny! I think this set came out well! I know I enjoyed making it. It was in Ancient Ivory.

I couldnt resist, she is slightly more than a year, but I am still proud of her.

Caswell 1100 rpm. $99 :D (I think they must be discontinuing them).

Yeah, it's a lot wider than it'd expected, especially with the tapered arbors I added. That's why it's sort of sandwiched in between the bandsaw and ductwork when I'm
not using it.

Stop is dan you're making us look bad.
