My Zero Tolerance ZT 0100 is a knife I would feel comfortable with when I needed dependable and tough in a serious situation. So far just my overgrown "Kudzu" vine infestation hate this thing! :)

A great feel in hand.......

Reverse grip, edge out super comfortable also,......and the nonslip cuts in the butt well placed for the thumb. G10 scales provide plenty of grip in all conditions.

Nice curves on this bitc,......er,...... lady. ;)

Cuts in the well placed thumb rest ramp provide a non-slip surface and plenty of control....

TOP grade and super tough steel doesn't come cheap, but when the chips are down do you really want crap steel between you and the bad guy? CPM3V one of the best. I bought this in 2007 for around $200 as I recall,.....today about $250 the cheapest I could find on Amazon.com Worth every cent when you need dependable performance.

Lots of 5 star reviews also on Amazon......

Weighs 11.29 ounces, but somehow feels a lot lighter in hand. The perfect balance the reason, perhaps?

Some day I'll make or buy a high ride sheath for it and carry it more often as an EDC under an un-tucked, looser fitting T-shirt , ....but for now it rides along in my vehicles. Can't be looking like a mercenary at the mall with the carry sheath it comes with. ;)

I own a pletora of high quality mucho macho production folders, ZT's, Benchmades, Spydercos etc...
However in a hypothetical life or death situation I would trade them all just to be alowed to hold my 4" Cold Steel Talwar.
They say it's made of steel but don't be fooled it's made of pure evil.

When you clench your fist around that comfortably slim handle you'll realize that thing is going nowhere. Than you look at that upswept thin slicer blade with acute tip and you realize your not holding a utility blade or EDC. Your holding 4 inches of agonizing death.

Seriously though, it's just a ridiculously effective blade, light, tri-ad lock, waved blade, bladeshape is essentially all belly with a tip that is shaped somewhat like a traditional tanto. I once went full backyard ninja on an old matrass with this thing and the result was unsettling.

Antdog, I loved the joke in the beginning and definitely understand about your friend in the later post. I have some acquaintances, and know a few terrific guys here on the BF, but I only have one true friend. He's been more than a brother to me for 26 years.

Now as far as the OP's original question on the hurtin' knives. Hmmm, any one of these will do if the AR and Glock run out of ammo.

There's a lot of functional duplication in that pic. Any way to take it down to a three piece kit and keep a second three piece kit for backup? I can only see wear on six of the knives in your kit, but the seven big ones towards the top of the kit seem from the picture to have no wear. The ones with wear are all small to medium blades, and not a SAK in the bunch. Maybe I'm missing it all, but that's what I see from the pic.

And your point is?

I have no plans on USING my knives as weapons, but I have several knives that are pretty much designed solely for use as weapons. My favorite is my Indonesian doubled edged karambit:

Thats a blood letting coke bottle shape, if I ever saw one.

Good pics.

The pics almost pushed me over the edge and made me buy one.

With four 'Xs' on the blade its a 'blem,'right?

Not that it matters, as I assume its mostly a cosmetic issue and if so, I could not care less?

Dang nice knife, thanks for sharing.

the 4 inch talwar is great knife, i have two of them. one serrated and one plain. i sanded down the handles on mine to make them smoother. the shape and design are superb.

The Blackjack 1-7. I don't have it yet, but should be mine in 24 hours :D Still the blade should be usable for other things, too.

Apart from that I would think the Ka-Bar TDI. I have a Sheffield - made Fairbarn-Sykes dagger. That should qualify, but the quality is not very good. The blade is too soft and I have not been able to sharpen it to a good edge.

Svord General Purpose Knife - 6 1/4” Blade, edc'd horizontally, back of belt, for defending my Jack Russell against more pitbull attacks. To avoid police hassle I must get a garden trowel made to the same dht, razor sharp, standard.
"Its for digging my dog out of rabbit holes, constable." Yeah. Right.

I've got the same situation, protecting our corgi from pit bulls. I find a nee heavy blackthorn or hornbeam works wonders for both the pit and the owner, with no aftermath legal hassle that a knife would cause.

Of course, if your absolutely must use a knife, use one that you don't mind loosing. The law will have it and chances are you will never see it agains. For that, you can't beat a low cost machete. Crude, but effective. Next down would be a good sharp butcher knife, as they are designed for cutting meat and taking apart animals.
