The majority of my knives are Spyderco knives. Any time a person askes me what folding knife I recommend it is a Spyderco. If Spyderco only produced knives in Golden and Seki my answer would be Spyderco.
I remember around 7-8 years ago Benchmade discontinued all outsourcing and announced that any & all knives carrying the Benchmade/Butterfly logo would be produced in Oregon City, OR. Then I waited for them to produce a knife I liked. And I waited some more...
If I had to choose my favorite knife company, first it has to be about the actual product and second it must be clear that their desire to make a quality product trumps their desire to simply sell a product. The company would need to keep their prices reasonable yet competitive. This company is Chris Reeve Knives. I also see Rick Hinderer Knives as my personal runner up.
