Your Favorites of 2008?

Kevin great thread. No fighting and lots of great knives. This is why I go to the custom forum to look and learn Oh I forgot it is fun to read STeven' s warm and fuzzy posts.:D

Well said JP. As I continue drooling over the ever growing display of knives, I was thinking that this IS the best thread I have had the pleasure of viewing!:D

Thanks, Kevin. Here are some other pics Keith took before he shipped it out to me.

The fittings are pretty nice and have a good finish on them. Patrick Hastings made them except for the fish menuki, which are antique. I picked those mainly to match Patrick's work and the color scheme for the style of mount Keith and I agreed on. Turns out they are probably modeled on dried sardines and the meaning behind them is for the owner to age gracefully and to keep demons away after a Japanese cleansing ritual.

Jose love seeing your sword hopefully things will slow down for me and I can have you down for a visit would love to see in person. Did you go to show?

Wow! That's my kind of sword! That handle would look and feel so nice after years of continuous use. I'm sure that won't be its fate, but the thought pleases me nonetheless.:)
Can we get a picture of the blade, too? Please?

Here's some that I built this year that I'm quite proud of. I feel lucky that I was given the opportunity to make these knives.

Josh, amazing collection of knives, every one of them a masterpiece!

From what I understand, their new homes are quite widely
spread all over the globe!!

All the best,

The year 2008 was a good year so far.

Fixeds blades:

Jimmy Fikes: 10" bowie/fighter

Fabian Damanet: 12" wootz camp knife

Folders:

Oufti: "Dauphin" friction folder

continued below...

Jens Anso: "Haddock" framelock

Thierry Savidan: "Raptor" framelock

Sacha Thiel: "Blue Bali" balisong

When displaying several newly acquired knives, like in your case,
Flavius, the personal trend shines through, and the knives look
like they do belong to a one-man's collection.

This is nice...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Josh, its just incredible to see the knives you've been pumping out of the shop. It almost seems that you learn more and more each time. I can't imagine how far they will go.

Beautiful, Beautiful work.

Check out post #97

:o Thank you, Kevin!

Great looking knives Josh. The Seales is the nicest I have ever seen although I don't find that the image does it justice. The damascus is so rich and full of pattern it is quite amazing.

I agree Murray, that Seales is outstanding. Though the Paul Long sheath is very nice as always, it will get a silver and leather wrapped sheath if I win it.
As that style screams for one IMO.

Thanks Joe, looking forward to it. I don't have a full length pic of the blade post polish but here is what it looked like once Howard was done with it.

Jaw dropping work, Josh, you're setting the bar pretty high...
