Your Knife For Social Gatherings ?

I usually go small for social gatherings, especially if I have to wear dress pants, but I always have a knife. Usually either a Spyderco Ladybug Hawkbill, a Manbug, or if I want a clip, a Dragonfly.

Depends on the occasion and the "types" of people attending. (posted for amusement purposes)

If the occasion has a bunch of macho type guys outdoors or family gathering on Mom's side of the family - Buck 110 Auto with possibly a fixed blade of some sort in my back pocket if we are on a farm or in the woods.
If the occasion is a work function - Benchmade auto or Spyderco PM2.
If the occasion is with friends (girls night out) - SAK of some sort and/or Case sod buster or A.Wright & Son lambsfoot in my small bag.
Out on my own Ill have a Fallkniven F-1 on bag, Benchmade auto clipped to pocket, Sod buster or lambsfoot in pocket and most likely some sort of Leatherman in bag.
On a date Ill have something small in my pocket like a slipjoint but a Beretta 92 with reloads in bag.

A gal that carries a blade and a Beretta when she goes on a date...where were you decades ago when I was single?

Oh well, I guy can dream can't he?

Looks like I have another knife to try for social events. Friday, a friend reached into his pocket and handed me his Kershaw 1610 Centofante.
I've already stabbed myself in the thumb with the darn thing!

If it's a dress up type social situation I will usually just carry a Case Peanut or Baby Butterbean. If it's a jeans type situation then it would be my normal Case/Schrade/Buck Medium Stockman

I wear jeans all the time.. PERIOD.. Holidays I edc something the wife, son or daughter gave me.. Any other time it is what ever I have been edcing..:D

Usually one of these three fits the bill nicely...

When my older sister got married recently, I had my Huntsman in my RFP with a coat hanger pocket clip (based off someone's design on these forums). When the food came around, they had delicious but obscenely thick pork chops, and the knives provided weren't up to the task. As I started cutting my food with my Vic, I looked up to see my dad cutting his with his Benchmade and my best friend cutting his food with a similar knife he had. It made me smile, ha ha

A couple new arrivals will be going in my "fancy pants" rotation.

And if going to a family gathering, regardless of dress, I usually toss my little Boker SanYouGo in a pocket. Apparently I'm the only one of my siblings that care if kitchen knives can do more than simply bludgeon food.

This hanging on my back (the Shark skin adds a touch of class ;)),

And this hanging from my hip....

:D :p

Nobody ever seems to want to talk to me for some reason.

I like to carry my Al Mar Ultralights or Benchmite. I'll be at my in laws for Christmas, I may just carry my Buck or Case trapper. That way if someone borrows it to open something, they can figure out how to close it. I'm finding a lot of people don't or can't figure out how to close a liner lock of back lock.

CM- Find a church that has a Saturday night service. The church I go to has two Saturday night services.
