Your knives got burglarized. Starting over...

Let's say you left for work one day with your EDC (let's say one knife, for argument's sake). You come home to find your house ransacked, all your knives gone. Which 3 knives would you start rebuilding your collection with?

For me, I'd have my Victorinox Classic with me (it's always on my keychain). I'd start with:
1. Buck 309 with the nice new rosewood scales and brass bolsters
2. Gotta have an SAK. Tinker for me.
3. A Mora No.1 for woodworking and bushcraft.

Man, that would be so rough!

I'd have a Les George VECP with me. To rebuild:
1. Hinderer XM-18
2. Sebenza
3. Strider SMF or SnG

1. Sebenza
2. Vic ALOX Electrician
3. Richmond Artifex 210mm gyuto in m390 (assuming the kitchen knives are gone as well...

1. GEC #62 Maverick
2. Case small Texas Jack
3. one of the Blind Horse patch knives

Luckily I've got a Green Para2 on order. ;)
Spyderco South Fork
Busse TGLB
Busse Sarge7

This did happen to me. Lost CRK, Strider, BM, ZT, etc.

I restarted with:
Strider SJ75
Victorinox Spirit
CRK Nyala

Today I'm carrying my orange Military so I would still have it.
I would have to keep an eye out for another D2 Paramilitary 1. Then a waved Delica and Serrated Tasman Salt.

Maybe I should keep my knives in the gunsafe...

Probably my BK9, BK16, and Ka-Bar heavy warthog.

And easier question is the three knives I wouldn't bother replacing.

Well I would have 2 blades on me: today the CQC10 and Caly3.5

To rebuild?
CQC7
Sebenza (hopefully in the next month or so)
ESEE 6

1. Upgrade my pocket clip edc to Sebenza
2. GEC conductor or other smaller GEC pattern - gets the most use in my world
3. BK-5
That was a lot harder than I though it would be, after the initial 3 purchase I would still be left feeling empty and would have to purchase at least 5 more in short order.

I'd most likely have my small Sebenza on me.

First I'd buy a kitchen knife. I'd probably end up with fewer knives overall. I have many similar knives that I'm not getting rid of, but I wouldn't buy all of them again. Some knives are no longer in production so I can't replace them for the price I originally paid (e.g. BM-42).

I'd probably get a Large Sebenza 21 again. And a BM-32. Perhaps a Spyderco Southard and a Caly 3. And a mini-griptilian eventually. Definitely not all at once. This is getting expensive. For a fixed blade I'd probably get something completely different just to try something new.

I've HAD that happen to me.. -_- It stinks. Except it was my worktools, and they were taken out of the back of my truck. Whoever it was got my multitool, a small fixed, and a good folder with it. Cost me quite a chunk.

I'd have my Sebenza 21 and Benchmade 710 (M390) on me.

Assuming I could get renters insurance to cover the full value of my knife collection loss, I'd start with the following replacements:

(1) Benchmade 940 (Gold Class) - I own a standard 940 now, and consider it my favorite "small" knife;

(2) Benchmade 275 - I will never understand why people pay two to four times the price for ZTs and Hinderers when the 275 is easily the toughest hard use knife on the planet;

(3) Spyderco Gayle Bradley - Spectacular fit and finish, good size, classy and versatile.

I would quickly pick up a Cold Steel (L) Voyager as a folder beater, a mora, and BK 2 fixed blade.

I'd probably have an Um or dauntless in my pocket...

I'd pick up whichever wasn't in my pocket at the time plus a strider SNG and BM 530

I'm not much of a collecter, so i guess id go with the 3 knives i use the most.

Izula 2 would be on me then,

1.) esee 4
2.) Becker BK9
3.) SAK Tinker
