YOUR most expensive production folder?

That's a heck of a start! What do you think of that "Kinetic" finish on the Busker? It looks fantastic in photos (imho) but I've never seen it with my own eyeballs.

Its valued in the 4 digits.

Outstanding knife. I bet it feels amazing being mostly cf. i’d like to see more knives where the body is all cf with only what is necessary for the lock to work being metal (well and the blade)

The only other one that I can think of it the bm 940. Cf is alot stronger than your brain tells you when you feel it. Its extremely ridgid so I wish more knives would take advantage of that.

Check out this fox where even the lockbar is cf. The lockface is a steel insert and obviously cf won’t make the strongest lock bar but I am curious to see this does.

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t intruiged.

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued.

Interesting. One of the reasons I'm a little leary of my 0450cf, is I'm concerned as to how strong CF is as regards to the area where the stop pin is. Not much material on the ZT to hold all that stress. But if they are starting to make lock bars out of the stuff, maybe it's strong enough.

Its definitely still somewhat of a question how strong just a peg hole in cf will be over time. WE knives has an interesting solution. They have a fairly thick teardrop shaped piece of metal that fits into a cutout in the g10 or cf. the round part of the metal piece the bearings roll on and the “tail” of the teardrop gives a place for the stop pin to go in and be supported by metal.

I think it's my Wayfarer 247. Roughly $425. I have a few in the $300-400 range. I doubt that I'd ever spend more than that on a knife, but if I did it would likely be on a CRK (just because it seems like I should own one).

Highest I paid was $600 or $650 for a small sebenza 21 with mammoth ivory inlays, on the secondary. Most I've paid to a retailer was $500 for my small sebenza 21 with box elder burl inlays.

SOG Fatcat, was $599 CAD.

When I saw this knife I knew I just had to get it; one of if not the most beautiful knives I’ve ever seen.

I know many people would never consider getting a $600 SOG, but this was truly special to me and it was worth every cent.

In the second pic the top knife is a SOG Tomcat 3.0.

Funny thing about my Fatcat was that I got my girlfriend’s name engraved on the backside of the blade, and she never believed I actually had it engraved she thought it came like that no matter what I told her!!!

And when I tried to sell it no one would buy the thing because of that haha what a waste.

Anyhow, GORGEOUS knife and one of my absolute favourites, along with the Benchmade 860 Bedlam.

$450 for my xv and jack but I'm soon going to jump up to 700 range with either a brown servo, thorburn or blomerus..the jdv golds look amazing but a little more than I can afford at the moment. Trying to figure out which is right for me since my go to manufacturer has been reate. I just need to know what I'm missing out on in the last 3 percentile of smoothness haha.

My Les George VECP V3 is the most expensive. I think it was $450 when I bought it. Not sure if it is a full on production knife (more like a mid-tech).

My Knifeworks S90V CF/Ti Spyderco Military is the next most expensive at $279.00 when I bought it.

Olamic Wayfarer Compact Flipper - Custom - with Textured Copper. It’s one of four copper versions but this one has a cool
Skull engraved in the scale. So this is a one of a kind. $650.00

Mine is a gen 6 Hinderer XM-18 3.5 No-Choil in M390, which ran me $425. It was not worth the money.

The knife doesn't flip unless you use bearings in the pivot, and even then it flips poorly. There's a massive amount of detent rock in the closed position, where you can see the lock bar shifting when you put pressure on the flipper tab. Worst of all, it was ground laughably thick behind the edge (even for a hinderer), which made it a massive pain to reprofile to anything approaching a normal edge angle, especially at the transition between the two flat grinds. I ended up reaching "screw it" levels of frustration and convexing the entire blade in a rage. It now cuts better, but I've effectively ruined my ability to resell it. I'm done with hinderers.
