Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

New Boker Coffin in CPM MagnaCut and blue denim Micarta.

I'll be honest... I really dislike the blue denim Micarta. 😂

That's kind of why I bought it though. After checking it out at a show, I realized that the covers not only have Torx construction, but are completely flat slabs (the notch is there if you want to add a pocket clip 🤢). I think this is going to be the perfect platform to demo all kinds of covers in different materials. I have a lot of different covers in the works. :D

As with most Solingen made Bokers, fit and finish is excellent. The grind is really, really great. The stop pin is an awesome touch. I also really like the way they shaped the top of the blade to give it a dagger like appearance when opened. All in all, two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!

I love the knife but also not the biggest fan of the micarta. I took mine apart and sanded down the scales in hopes that it would more like blue denim.

Love the Sodbuster. What are the covers?
The light was failing (end of day) so they aren’t well represented here. These covers are standard yellow synthetic, and I’m glad to have this example, as it’s a perfect little gem. Smooth, great snap, walk and talk. Case has, in my experience, really taken strides to come back to putting out good quality knives!

All my recent purchases have been of excellent quality, one in particular. It the best fit and finished knife i have with a really smooth snap and not one gap and everything sits flush. Good to hear another member giving good commentary on Case. An iconic American knife company steeped in history that seemed to have lost their way for a while and getting many negative reviews.

Truth be told, I have a pretty well stocked hardware store right down the street from my house so I've been able to see their increase in quality in realtime. Two years ago, most of the knives in the case would have at least one cosmetic issue, if not more. Now, virtually all of them are good to go. Plus, given how difficult GECs are to obtain anymore (not to mention the overall price increases of them), whereas I am able to get Case knives in what (if we're being honest) is a tremendously greater selection of covers over GEC, it has me back being into them. I'm very glad that the quality is there again.

Previous post came on Friday. This one came today. I'm done for a while.

I had recently started looking for my first desert ironwood knife. When this series came out I was stoked. Then I saw the blue bone version. I tried and failed on 4 drops before I got this. I am quite happy with my luck of the draw on this beautiful GEC #47 Desert Ironwood

Been a good month

Battle Axe Trapper in Green Bone
Case Doctors Knife in Gold Acrylic made in Germany from the 1990 Run
Fightn Bull/Wendell Carson Doctors Knife in Abalone
GEC #15
GEC #36
Unused Uncle Henry Schrade Stockman
Canal Street Pinchback in Lemonade Abalone
Buck Cadet 303

What a variety!! There's zero chance I could mentally manage an assortment of knives like that. 😆 May the force be with you.

I collect all slip joints :p or should I say I buy whatever catches my eye.
I wish it were that easy for me! Everything I acquire has to check a multitude of boxes: Brand? Blade shape? Steel? Covers? Do I already have one similar? Keeper? User? You get my drift. 😂 Then I get it, don't like it, and trade it. 😒

I don't sell any of my slippies, I collect them.

I don't think I could part with a single one. I go by the same logic though, some are for admiration, some are for using and some are to feed my addiction 😄
