Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

A great friend had gifted me a knife for officiating her wedding. It was such kind gift. But it’s hard to buy for us knife guys. She and her new hubby bought a new Cooper made Battle Axe Brand, stag hunter that is as large as a small machete. We got a kick out of it. I asked if I could swap it out for something I could carry that symbolized the same vibe she was going for.

Last week I stumbled across this German made Battle Axe Brand gunstock. I think it will be a great substitute. I Love the etch! The stag on this is just…wow. It was made in 1980 I believe. It’s never been used and needs a bit of TLC. Definitely a fun add to the collection.

That is some sweet stag, Jon. A fine gift!!!

Just got this Viper Hug and immediately put it in pocket for work. It came very sharp and just needed a stropping to even out the edge.
It performed admirably!

I impulse-bought a Cold Steel Ranch Boss II, thinking it would make a nice modern complement to my classic Buck 110 and Schrade LB7. It’s torxed together so I guess that makes it easier to disassemble, should the need arise. Only downside so far is that it’s made in China, which I generally don’t have a problem with except I prefer my American traditionals to be made in the actual continent.

Oh my, it’s a big one, the blade makes the 110 look sort of small. It comes with a leather sheath of acceptable quality (alas, spending time drooling in the “whacha been up to…” thread in the sheaths forum has raised my expectations on leatherwork, and to a lesser degree my leather working skills…)

Edit: the sheath gives me bonded leather vibes. Not 100% sure though

Very nice Jeff, great coloring.👍🏻
Does yours have a strong pull? I had Tinus put a nail nick in to help on one of mine.
Congrats.

Yes, Bob, firm pull, around 7-8. I'm trying to get used to it; being my first pinch-only knife it may take some time. I used my best, slickest oil on it . . . we'll see!
