I usually go for bone, but I do have a few micarta GEC knives, and it feels pretty durable. I have the Urban Jack in both green bone and green micarta, and liked the bone more; but this B&S is perfect in micarta, and I get not only the blade and comb, but the fork!DamnDocJekl , that’s a hell of a haul
! I hope you like the natural micarta, I think it’s a great material and about perfect for the B&S.
My holiday job of truckin ice led me to the town of Braidwood..where in a moment of chronic kifeaholic withdrawal collappse* I found this in the out doors shop which now takes poll position in knife shops of Australia...in my book....they have things I just dont see.Help me outmitch13 .

The second knife i ever bought with my own money was a Puma, many, many years ago now. Moving it on not one of my smartest decisions. You won't go wrong with a German made puma, built like tanks.
Ain't that the truth. They were everywhere when i was a kid. The modern world heh.it's very rare to find a brick and mortar shop with puma or buck or even quality brand in Australia
My local gun shop stocks a lot of buck knives. I did get one from there years ago but when I was flying to QLD for a deer hunting trip I’d forgotten to take it out of my carryonNice score.. blade open please. You won't go wrong with a German made puma, built like tanks.
Yes it's very rare to find a brick and mortar shop with puma or buck or even quality brand in Australia. I did have a look alas no website
Looks like you will need to go back to support local economy![]()
Beautiful sir.So, I was visiting my mother in NC, when she insisted we go to the nearby knife shop. A shop, consequently where she had purchased prior gifts for me of a Case Two Blade Hunter in stag and Puma Stockman in stag, but that I had never been to in person. Old School Knife Works in Otto, NC. If you’re ever in the area, I highly suggest you go. I have never seen a brick and mortar store with nearly as much antique, vintage, and handmade pieces before. I did not take pics because I was in awe, and it would’ve seemed rude.
I ended up keeping the tradition of getting a stag knife from there alive by buying this beautiful Queen City whittler that caught my eye:

If my tang stamp ID is correct, should be 1937-1945. I don’t think the edges have ever been touched.
Thanks. They had A LOT of really nice stuff. This was the one that called out to me on this short visit.Beautiful sir.
Too bad about the knife. Glad you weren't disappeared into a black hole somewhereMy local gun shop stocks a lot of buck knives. I did get one from there years ago but when I was flying to QLD for a deer hunting trip I’d forgotten to take it out of my carryon. Fed police did interview me but we’re good about it, they could see I was an idiot not a terrorist. Did unfortunately have to surrender it.
Elk I think...also the Lady in the shop was...oh whats the other name for Pumas?..An earl, very nice, really like the scales.
