Damn DocJekl DocJekl , that’s a hell of a haul 😂! I hope you like the natural micarta, I think it’s a great material and about perfect for the B&S.

I usually go for bone, but I do have a few micarta GEC knives, and it feels pretty durable. I have the Urban Jack in both green bone and green micarta, and liked the bone more; but this B&S is perfect in micarta, and I get not only the blade and comb, but the fork!

The Stag 14 is a little thick in the handle, and may end up becoming a gift in the future, but I'll play around a little more before I make a long term decision.

The Bull Buster is nice, with a strong detent that's perfect to stay safe with the added leverage from a long blade, but I do want to add one with a back lock when I can.

Nice score.. blade open please. You won't go wrong with a German made puma, built like tanks.
Yes it's very rare to find a brick and mortar shop with puma or buck or even quality brand in Australia. I did have a look alas no website 😭
Looks like you will need to go back to support local economy 😉😄

The second knife i ever bought with my own money was a Puma, many, many years ago now. Moving it on not one of my smartest decisions. 🤯 🤯 🤯

Ain't that the truth. They were everywhere when i was a kid. The modern world heh.

So, I was visiting my mother in NC, when she insisted we go to the nearby knife shop. A shop, consequently where she had purchased prior gifts for me of a Case Two Blade Hunter in stag and Puma Stockman in stag, but that I had never been to in person. Old School Knife Works in Otto, NC. If you’re ever in the area, I highly suggest you go. I have never seen a brick and mortar store with nearly as much antique, vintage, and handmade pieces before. I did not take pics because I was in awe, and it would’ve seemed rude.

I ended up keeping the tradition of getting a stag knife from there alive by buying this beautiful Queen City whittler that caught my eye:

If my tang stamp ID is correct, should be 1937-1945. I don’t think the edges have ever been touched.

ETA: Not completely sure if this is as old as I originally thought, or a more modern manufacture using the old tang stamp, but it’s a nice whittler regardless.

My local gun shop stocks a lot of buck knives. I did get one from there years ago but when I was flying to QLD for a deer hunting trip I’d forgotten to take it out of my carryon 😬. Fed police did interview me but we’re good about it, they could see I was an idiot not a terrorist. Did unfortunately have to surrender it.

Too bad about the knife. Glad you weren't disappeared into a black hole somewhere dic.gif
Put me in mind of this:

Wasn't expecting this until early next week. 2024 knife budget almost gone right out of the gate. 🤣

Found a Bucklock 2023 LE. Gotta say, this is a nice knife. About the same size as the 112, but about 1/3 less chonky. I know some of the collectors out there will curse me, but just as with my Case/ Bose collabs, this is going in my carry rotation and will get used the same as my other knives (not really much use these days).
