Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Found my Laguiole a little brother, this time in horn.

Beautiful. I keep looking at those, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

+ 5K! :thumbup::thumbup:

That horn-handled Laguiole is a beautifully elegant knife indeed!

An acquaintance (not a knife knut) gave me this Ulster BSA knife last night. I spent a little time with polish, WD40, oil, etc. It appears to be an early example of the breed, dating to 1923-1926.

Tang stamp reads:

ULSTER
DWIGHT DIVINE
& SONS U.S.A.

It's not without its problems, such as the chunk of bone out of the scale, a bent shackle, and lots of side-to-side blade play. Someone must have used it to remove hubcaps or something. At least they were prepared!

This is a nice Dwight Devine Ulster knife. It is not unusual to see the shackle bent. You might be able to remove some of the side blade by very gently squeezing the bolsters in a padded vice.

Thanks, Joe. I'd thought about perhaps giving the bolsters a bit of a squeeze. I'll give it a try soon.

I don't have any pictures of it yet but my Buck 307 just got here and it is one heck of a knife! A big thank you to 300Bucks for introducing me to this knife! I have wanted a large stockman for quite some time now, and this one is just perfect. They spey blade spring is a little loose but nothing to worry about, and the other blades still open with authority. Its a very sturdy knife, and everything I've heard about it is true; its just great. I'm sure there will be other large stockmen I like but I doubt they'll meausure up to this one. Camillus made some incredible knives for Buck.

Congrats, Bob! :thumbup::thumbup:
That's a real looker, and I'm always a sucker for the 2-bladed 15s. Spear and pen?

Congrats on the new blades, bozack! :thumbup::thumbup:
They all look great to me, but I think I saw in a different thread that the 38 didn't live up to your expectations? :(
Is the Queen stockman another buffalo horn knife? Queens with those handles are suddenly showing up every day here at BF. They sure are attractive!

The 38 is not as nice a fit and finish as my other 38. I have decided to let it ride in my pocket and use it. I do love the pattern and don't feel bad about using it. The Queen is a buffalo horn. It is a really nice knife to be hold. I have not been disappointed with any of the Queen Knives I have bought from this year.

This one came, today. Case Chestnut Medium Stockman. The build quality is excellent. The main clip blade is surprisingly centered. The Sheepfoot blade has the exact same rub mark as my Blue Bone Stockman. One thing, I'm disappointed in is how the bone on this took the die. The mark side is OK. But, the pile side looks very pinkish. Almost like a different handle. maybe Rasberry. Not nearly as nice as the other Chestnut bone Cases I have. I'll post a pic of that side later.

This one brightened my day with its arrival yesterday. After the stress of a visit with the cardiologist, I came home to a package from a neighbor on the other side of the mountain. Inside was a gift from GBPacker:

Couldn't have come at a better time!
