Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Congrats, Bob, on a great find!:thumbup:
You and was it your grandson going to try to get some fishing in soon? That'd be fantastic! :D:D

Yes, it was my grandson Gary. He's ready to go. :D I just need to get my son-in-law to drag my boat out (it's stored in their yard) and uncover it for me. Hopefully I can pick a day when I'm feeling up to it and my grandson has the time.

You sound like a man with a plan, Bob! :p
Don't rush out too soon, though; I'm dismayed to be watching snow flurries out my office window all day today.:( I doubt if being out on the lake would be much fun today.
But I hope you guys can get out soon and have a great time fishing (whether you're catching or not)! :D
Do you have a designated fishing knife?

It's been quite nice here lately other than a bit on the windy side of things.
Typically I carry a Bark River Little Creek fixed blade. Sometimes it's easier to go with a fixed blade when your hands are wet and covered in slime. If I do go with a folder, it's usually a Case Soddie Jr.

that pearl northfield whittler is an amazing little knife, much as I like the modern slipjoint makers, the best of them still have a little way to go before they can match that sort of craftsmanship.

Thanks, Bob. I can use all the fishing advice I can get. :o

Here's a new addition I got from davek14 a couple of weeks ago.

It's an Imperial Ireland stockman. I know almost nothing about why Imperial was in Ireland, and my ability to use the forum's search engine has improved insignificantly in the 9 months I've been a member!

Some nice convex goodness arrived today, quite possibly the sharpest knives out of the box I have ever received.

Apologies for the pic quality, tried to do that quickly while getting rained on :).

Very nice. Do they have a full four finger grip?

Hey Bob - I can get 4 fingers on it, and I have medium sized paws, but it is just a little awkward. For me it works a bit better with my little finger kind of half wrapped around the end. Really great edc sized fixed blades.
