Today I got my Mazer Walkabout in S90V and blue jeans linen micarta, and GEC Urban Jack in green jigged bone. This is my 3rd Mazer, and second Walkabout. The first in AEB-L which I've carried and used, and had to put to the Spyderco sharpmaker once; and now the same model in S90V for a longer lasting edge.

My first Urban Jack in green jigged bone was a safe queen, then I gave my second one to my new son-in-law as an engagement present, so now I have a user. Thanks @JasonInVa !

That's a beautiful contrast of scale material vs hardware.

17221429784758002798027593689512.jpgmy first Cattaraugus a gift from my canadian brother,so I get to researching which I find one of the best aspects of collecting these old traditional pocket knives, but if I thought I could find the age by the tang stamp I was sorely mistaken

Another Cub Scout knife. I was thinking I didn't need it, but it's in excellent shape and has a plastic-covered shield like my lost original. Except I've never seen the plastic shield in grey/silver; always gold. The liner-lock on the screwdriver wasn't engaging, but I pulled it over once with a mini-prybar, and now it works.
Well worth $4.99 + $4.38 shipping.

A couple new Case barlows arrived today. As we know, Case can be a little roll of the dice sight unseen. The bone stag single had a couple chips in the pile side cover when it got to me, which I buffed out to my satisfaction in lieu of bothering with a return to the dealer.

Aside from the chips, which I can’t say with certainty was Case’s fault, the fit and finish on both is otherwise really quite good. Actions are nice and crisp, no gapping and even springs in the open and closed positions. The blue one was darn near perfect, save the burrs left on both edges that a quick touch up took off.

July acquisitions...the good, the bad and the ugly. I will buy mixed lots if I see something the looks interesting. Sometimes I win like with the Keen Kutter crown jack and the Robeson strawberry bone barlow but sometimes I lose like with the Robeson French Ivory EO Jack (it's pretty well shot).
