Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

And now this...Thanks to Dan sf fanatic sf fanatic for doing battle with both usps and australia post and customs during the mail crisis. The crisis mainly consisting of strange and confusing tracking notifications and a biohazard sniffer dog...NB anything with fruit in its name will be inspected upon entry to Australia.
Despite all that... . the knife that was sent to Dan on my behalf thence forwarded to me is strangely not the one I ordered.I am happy with the one they sent ...hey its a 2024 Viper....Never dreamed I could get a current GEC...buuut it is the year of the snake...and we all know how slippery they can be...so what is he cranking on about?

Considering the dealer who can"t named has a non international shipping policy...and the amount of communication that went between me and them...I'm finding it at best hard to believe ...at worst a bit disappointing... that they could have made this glaring error.
End of day its all good....perhaps the knife gods have other things in store for me1000024232.jpg

I'm glad it all worked out for you. They are a nice piece of cutlery.
Excellent gesture on Dan's part for the assist.
I sent a knife to Australia, 2 months later, after we gave up, the knife arrived.🤨

This arrived yesterday, took 3 weeks from France to Finland but that's because the dealer forgot to put 'Finlande' on the address so it made a desperate tour round France 🤣 Mind you that's nothing compared to some US dealer who put Finland as a town in the UK.... where's that?? Took weeks and then got sent back, the things we international knife connoisseurs have to put up with;)

Delighted with this knife from Le Sabot, French manufacturers have really upped their game and finish&action are really good these past few years for moderate money too  11cm/4.3" closed, all stainless construction, Bourbonnaise blade-very sharp indeed and centred, no play. Thick Ram's Horn slabs that are transluscent with some simple file-work and flush pins . Strictly speaking this is not really a Vendetta pattern despite the blade stmp and bandit head, and certainly not made in Corse/Corsica either, but it's a very nice item and will be going into use.

The jigging on that Barlow is exquisite! Who made that knife?

Prototype Saddlehorn by my good friend Grayson Jennings. I had been all but begging him to take this pattern on, as I knew it would nail the execution with his usual skill. I’m blessed to have the first one, and it absolutely met all my expectations.

Glad it got to you in the end, Will. When I was sending out the 2024 Guardians knives last year, I had two going to members in Australia. I dropped ‘em both off at the local post office at the same time. When I checked the tracking a couple days later, one had gone through San Francisco — a reasonable route for something going from here to Australia — while the other had gone to Chicago and then Frankfurt, Germany! 🤨 I had to go back and double check that I hadn’t accidentally put Austria instead of Australia. 🤣 Thankfully they both made it in the end.

That’s a good looking knife! I’m guessing, like a lot of French knives, that’s one that you’re better off easing closed rather than letting it snap shut?

btb01 btb01 Thanks Barrett  With international deals you best not look at tracking too much or you'll go manic 🤣 I'm very pleased with it, imposing! Yes it's the Gallic Kickless, so strictly guiding it home and I put leather or cork down in the well to make sure. Don't mind that though, I've enough 'talking knives' to keep me entertained :D Enjoy this week-end
