I just received these two A. Wright and Sons lockbacks, a WW2 pattern, and included a GEC 23 for scale.

My latest barlow showed up today. I hesitated to get one because I prefer barlows without shields and stamped or plain bolsters. But I really wanted a bonestag. So I hoped I would still like it. And it is a resounding yes. I would definitely prefer it without the shield. And if Case ever makes a bonestag without a shield, hint, hint, I will get it. But they at least used a small shield. But the bonestag looks perfect to me. I prefer my bonestag dark. And I put a request with Shepherd Hills to check it for fit and finish and mentioned I preferred darker bonestag. The knife definitely was taken out of the paper wrapping before. So I will assume they checked it for me. Either way it is a winner. Fit and finish if good enough for me. The blade is slightly to the pile side. But it is not close to rubbing. So I don't care. There is the tiniest amount of blade wobble. But it is so tiny, I don't care. If it gets worse, I will tighten it up.

I was at one time not very fond of their Bonestag , but that changed after I got a Trapper with it and now I think it is a very nice form of Jigging . I particularly like the colors in your Barlow . One of the very best that I have seen . Enjoy your Barlow my friend .

I love the Delrin covers and the clear blade markings. ‘76 was a good year for me too!
