Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

It's a Friedrich Herder Abr. Sohn PIKAS 'webermesser' or weaver knife.
Wood handle, the blade is a carbon steel lambfoot. It has great walk and talk and a half stop.
I bought it second hand for a few bucks.

It caught my eye because I will show my Paeremes tomorrow, the blade on that knife is from the same manufacturer and steel.

This "yeller" peanut henceforth to be known as Captain and it only took twelve days to get here.

I was looking at Grohmanns just last night. That looks great!

What does it weigh in and out of the sheath, if I may ask? That's the one stat on Grohmanns I've had trouble finding.

I'll post a few photos of some Rough Riders I ordered about a month ago but haven't showed off yet in this thread (although this is essentially a re-run of a post in the Rough Rider thread). First, a RR "work knife" in amber jigged bone; it's obviously the RR version of a sodbuster jr.

I also bought a little lockback with "midnight swirl" handles.

Another lockback, this one a canoe pattern, was also in my order. An unexpected "bonus" was the saber grind on the main blade.

Finally, a RR electrician's knife. Seems to be a very solid, well-made knife, and I appreciate the good advice it gives me every time I look at the shield! :D

Those look great GT!! My Cousin has a RR trapper and I was extremely impressed with the quality. Amazed really...

Hope you're feeling better! :)

This knife is a great one for the EO mod. They only short coming of this model imo is the nail nick should be closer to the tip, like on a the Case Soddy.

Thanks, SAK Guy! :) I have a lot of Rough Riders, and have no complaints about almost all of them. And I am feeling better than I was last week, thanks. Now that the semester from Hades is over, and I'm actually sleeping at night instead of coughing, the world seems much brighter! :D:D

Thanks, Mike. I think a photo and comments you posted in the Rough Rider thread a while back put this work knife on my "must have" list! ;)

I have a couple rr's and the trapper is the best one, fit and finish wise.

Nice Henkels and GEC's kootenay joe. That vine looks like wisteria. We have some and its a pain. It will take over if you let it.

Yes Red, Wisteria, but it's beautiful, even though it's pulling my deck off. In England i saw 250 yr old Wisteria completely covering an arbor that went on for about 400 yards. Impressive as anything in bloom.

KJ Those Farmers's Jacks are a treat. Very decent wormgroove bone on that old Henckels. I have an Orchard Gem and Lick Creek in Old Yellow, fine gear!

As for the Wisteria, you're lucky to have it, takes a long time to get flowering but it makes for a beautiful May, some are fragrant too. Go easy on it.....

Thanks, Will

Here is my newest traditional, gifted to me by KJ.

I'm really liking this knife, the main blade Joe said are some of the thickest blades made on a traditional folder.

Thanks Joe - :)

I don't know much about the Boker and it does have quite a bit of blade play on 3 of the 4 blades, but I like it. I've been eyeing the other two for a while...

Bare knife weight is 108 grams. With the sheath 152 g. I'm not quite sure how accurate this postage scale is, but you get the idea. Reminds me why I like reasonably sized fixed blades more and more. :)

Great-looking knives guys
