I stopped by Tractor Supply tonight, and got sucked into the knife case. I ended up walking out with a yellow Delrin punch stockman. I love being able to hit a store and hand pick a knife.

Same gap as previously mentioned, which looks to me to be more of an overly rounded spring due to polishing. Not a big issue at all.

I've actually been pretty impressed with Case this year. Not GEC quality, but the handful I've bought have been pretty good for the price. This one has very good walk and talk, and no wobble on any of the blades. Well done, Case!!! Well worth the money.

The punch is odd though. The shape is great for function, but it naturally tapers away from the liner and ticks the sheepsfoot. It's not a matter of fit or anything. Just the design. But then again, something always rubs on a stockman, so who cares.

I've been really digging cattle knives lately, but they're hard to find with the specific blade setup that I like. Leaving the ahistorical caplifter closed (it's on the left), the Victorinox Electrician is...a cattle knife! Equal-end, spear main, sheepsfoot and punch secondaries. And it's a beaut:

I like my Cadet, but the Electrician offers four of my personal favorite tools in an appealing package. At 2.4 oz. (compared to the Cadet's 1.6) it's a bit heavier than I'd like for a "gent's carry," but not by much.

I'm surprised by how beefy it feels -- much beefier than the Cadet. In my head they were more similar, but in hand they're quite different. I suppose an extra 0.8 oz. will do have that effect!

Nice knife you have there, Dadpool. My first Alox SAK was the Electrician. Great knife, I enjoyed carrying it. However, for my daily needs the lighter slimmer Cadet has replaced it as my every single day carry, along with some other slipjoint du jour. Love me some Alox, that's a fact.

Just got these three beauties ...

A Northwoods Broadway Jack (black came bone), a Northwoods Broadway Jack (blue came bone), and a Schatt&Morgan #69 Barlow (clippoint).

Sorry for the bad picture ... was in a hurry.

Couldn't be happier, even though the S&M has a scratch on the blade and the shield got dented when they fixed the cover skins. But these little beauty spots give the knife personality. ;)

Nice pick-ups, dude!:thumbup: I like buying a new knife, but I think I get even more enjoyment from finding an old one I can try to "rescue" or "resurrect". I'm especially drawn to your Imperial, since it looks familiar to me. :D:D

Congrats on the Electrician, Dadpool!:cool: I have an Electrician I've carried every "normal" day since I got it last October (except for one week when I replaced it with a black Pioneer - looked GREAT, but I missed the Electrician's sheepsfoot way too much). Regarding the comparison to the Cadet, the Electrician IS 50% heavier than the Cadet, so a "beefier" feel definitely makes sense.

My Electrician was my first Alox SAK, too, John. I just picked up a Cadet (gotta get some pics this afternoon), and I'm interested to see how it fits into my ever-evolving rotation. My guess is that I'll stick to the Electrician for EVERY day, and the Cadet may become part of the "little beauties" rotation (along with Case swayback jack, Vic Pocket Pal, Imperial jack pictured above, and a little horn-handled Joker), one of which is always in my watch pocket.

My 65's cam in. Blood wood, Antique Autumn pick bone, and the most gorgeous stag you will ever see

And my AG Russell Canal Street Pinch in two tone micarta.

Thanks! I'm still waffling about trying a Bantam (the Cadet minus the tools I don't need) or a Pioneer/Soldier (punch > nail file for me, but I also don't really need the can opener) -- I do like how slim and easy to pocket it is.

But the Electrician! Man, but that's a capable little beast. I love it already. :)

Great picture! That's a well-loved case you have there. :)

I somehow missed how substantial the weight difference between the Cadet and the Electrician was when I decided to try the Electrician. I thought it was just a slightly heavier knife on the Cadet "frame," but basically the same feel. :foot:

Comparing the two did make me realize that the Cadet is actually more of a Sleeveboard shape, whereas the Electrician is a true equal-end/cigar. Another thing I didn't realize!

That Bloodwood Hogan looks very good, and as for that STAG!!!! Just shows, Barehead is best Great trio.

Received this in a trade, the transit from Florida to Mass ended up in some oily patina and some start of rust at the edge

After a quick polish, rub down, tune up and honed up on 2000 grit/the stropman it's now a beautiful albeit chunky knife with a laser edge.

A person here told me I should leave after finding "The Knife", the constant temptation would prove to be too much for me. Alas, that individual was correct;I picked up an older Buck 501 with micarta handle covers that has also been re-bladed.The idea was to try out the pattern prior to ordering one from ther Buck Custom Shop.

The person responsible for this is of course none other than Knarfeng! He keeps posting that custom shop Buck 501 of his with that S30v blade!!!!!!! It is all his fault that I have fell off the GEC 73 wagon.

My photography leave a lot to be desired.
