Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Thanks Harry. I appreciate that. Im always on the lookout for a good stag on a 73 with my number 10 on it. :D

Brett, the Arno's are pure class, just beautiful lines to them. And the popcorn Scout is terrific. Big Congrats!

Is it just me or is all of the stag from the latest run of 73s just amazing? Did GEC find a hidden stash somewhere or something? Brett, Harry, Paul, Dave, and Mark all came away with beautiful knives and I'm sure I'm missing a couple in there. Congratulations, guys. Each of you hit the jackpot.

Ron, as others have said...great pair of knives:thumbup: I too really favor the #79:cool:

Paul -Thank you :) I am really liking this #79 :D

Brett - Number 10 is a fine specimen my friend  Congrats on that one :D

Ron That's a fantastic find the 79. Lot of character with fine ageing potential. I have its counterpart in a Northfield Blackwood version, knives that deserve more attention. They'd make a great pair....;):D

Thanks, Will

Will - Thank you Sir! I have been looking and thinking about the #79 for some time now. To me the pattern has the right blade combination to make a terrific EDC. I looked at the Northfield and Tidioute offerings and both are nice. When this Smooth Ivory Bone popped up on the exchange I did not hesitate! To me this knife has the look, quality and feel that epitomizes the word "Traditional"!:D

Thanks Cory, Jeff, & Ron. I appreciate it guys.

Cory - I would have to agree with you buddy. It seems GEC found a lot of good stag for this run. The Natural on mine is probably the best I have had, not saying much, Ive only had a hand full. Honestly, I lucked out. Ive been looking for number 10 and Mike had it. I just cant wait for a natural patina to develop. :D

There really has been some nice stag shown from this run. I hope the 83's are as nice. I took a short (4day) vacation this weekend and after driving back for 5+hours this Canal Street Muskrat was in the mail box. With Canal Street likely to get nod on the BF knife I wanted to see wht they were all about. Very impressive F&F on this knife. everything is smoothly transitioned and the action is very smooth. I really like the bolsters. Pins are flush and smooth. Very nice job. And, acceptably sharp out of the box. I think the BF knife will be in good hands.

I don't think it's just you, Cory. I've found the stag on these recent 73s to be stunningly attractive, so much so that I'm seriously considering investing in one as a special exception to my "rule", posted more than once :o, that I'd probably never purchase a knife from GEC (not to mention my strong preference for multibladed knives).

(Ryan (556hunter) is another guy who has a recently acquired 73 with killer stag.)

Oh, I forgot to add some of my newest additions. I "featured" these gun & knife show scores in their own thread, but I'll put them here too.
A carbon steel Imperial barlow with the characteristic shell handles, and a new Remington canoe with brushed stainless blades and bolsters and maple burl covers.

Real nice stag you have, Brett. I believe there is a lot of good stag out there now. Not just on the 73's. Here is my 65. The best stag I have ever seen.

bozack Legendary stag on that knife, it'll be prized by future generations too!

duderubble Fine selection of CASE knives you've landed there. I don't have an Eisenhower, very nice looking knife with that Saturn shield, difficult to get here in Europe. As for those rust spots, a good metal polish should fix them, you can try putting a tiny drop of oil on the spots first and leaving for a while, use your fingernail on them, then try the polish.

Thanks, Will

Congrats on your new Case knives, duderubble; very attractive!!:thumbup: The little pen knife looks great, and the top knife is very interesting and, to me, unusual! Will you provide more info on that top knife, please? What is the pattern called (stockman + coping blade)? Does the tang stamp have a Roman numeral date? Cool knives!:cool:

Beautiful knife there. May I ask what type of steels did they use on those blades. I'm thinking of getting one in oiled Rams horn and turning one of the blades into a sheep foot/wharncliff/coping blade. theoretically after that I'd be done with buying knives altogether. 😅

This guy arrived today and i find i have a knife i probably will not carry , it was the small that confused me , surely it should be a medium ? Anyhoo it slots in with my yeller collection, i added the small stockman to illustrate my confusion , of course i now realize i should of got a tiny trapper to go with my small stockman. Huh.

This is not a new addition of mine, I have had these two for years. But this is the Tiny Trapper next to a Peanut. Just to give you a size comparison.

Keep in mind that Case's naming is rather variable, and any sort of size modifier is based on the main pattern. So a "Small Texas Jack" is only small in comparison to the (now discontinued) Texas Jack. And the Small Texas Jack, which is Amber Bone CV, is called a "Medium Jack" when done in any other handle and steel combination, and the same name is applied to the smaller '087 Medium Jack pattern. It is also the basis for one of FIVE "Medium" stockman patterns. Which in itself is deceiving, because the Medium Stockman patterns range from 3 1/4" (smaller than the Mini Trapper, Mini Copperlock, and Small Texas Jack) to 3 5/8". And the Small Stockman is about the same size as the Tiny Trapper.

Sooo.... never trust what's in the name, look at the sizes!

Thanks. The blades are 14-4CRMO Stainless. Done with buying knives??? Perish the thought. :D
