I have a smaller version and it makes me feel like that kid again, when its on my belt. I know being the SAK jedi your going to love it!! I love just looking at the picture of it. Very cool!!

Thanks Gev! Looking forward to that next family gathering for when someone asks to borrow a knife....I expect a 3-4 min lag time as they look for a blade. :D

Yesterday's arrivals ... GEC clip blade #83 in Purple Sage Bone and GEC #73 natural stag ... with last week's drop point #83 natural stag thrown in for good measure.

I have to say that I'm totally blown away by all three knives. The craftsmanship, fit and finish are impeccable.

I really love the simplicity of this 73's stag covers, even though they many appear a little bland on first sight.

And I really have to say that the purple sage 83 gets a lot less recognition than it should ... I like it at least as much as my tortoise one, maybe even as much as the stag. (Actually I'm contemplating getting a drop point purple sage ... )

Congrats on the first GEC, Mark!! Are there more on the way? ;)

Thanks GT! It sure is tempting to order more [emoji16] I'm trying to postpone buying any more expensive knives until I recieve the 2015 forum knife. The 83 is my first digression from this goal but it's worth it.

Really nice trifecta BC ..... and that Stag on the 2nd #83 is stunning.

Hello SAK Guy, is your Swiss Champ current production or older ? If older, is there a way to tell approximate age ?
How many thick is it ?
thanks, kj

At 4.5" that's a serious pocket knife. I like the double lock backs. Nice knife!
On the heavy side for pocket, I did not realize how big a knife it is! Very comfortable to use and very smooth.
I'll probably later try a medium sized.

KJ, it's older production because it has the pre 2004 Gray 8x Magnifier but it has the new stainless chromium plated metal saw/file (introduced 2005) which dates the knife to 2005-2006. Newer ones will have the 5x or 6x magnifier with a clear housing.

The SC XLT has 11 layers and 50 listed functions.

Today arrived this Schrade Walden 2153.
Made some polishing of rust, sharpening and taken away the chain.
Now is ready for my pocket!!!

Here's a nice Schrade Cut. Co, 2 7/8"; half stops and absolutely perfect blade action. SCC had a few different Peach Seed jigging patterns. I think this is an early one.

KJ Excellent bone on that one, nice Sabre grind and an overall very decent example.
