Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

A lovely Empire, Jamie, what are the secondary blades?

Jeff,

I need to get some good pics of this one opened up but these are all I have yet. Pen and file blades on this one. Unsharpened with original polish. The milled liners, pearl and sunken joints make for a fine knife.

It's not new, but I got this Schrade Walden 236 in a week or so ago.

Just popped the tube, it passed its close inspection with flying colours.
Talking of which, Antique Yellow is a very nice choice. Many thanks
to Barry for his service. Regards, Will

I was able to find the other grail I was looking for, the 735109L in white bone, to go with my 735109 in bocote. Finally able to remove both from my signature.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Gene Wiseman barlow in ebony :)

Gene's really hit it out of the ballpark with his barlows!

I'm glad you were able to find both Brett!!

Thanks all for the compliments.

Turk - Others will know this more than I would, but I have only seen that shield on the older 73s and on a few half congresses. I think it is on a few others as well, but can not remember which models.

I was out at our local stockyards some time ago and was trimming a wood board on a fence gate with my #79 Montana Workhorse Whittler when a youngster came up to me and started asking questions about the knife and it's ebony covers. After a bit of discussion, I gave him the knife. Well, I got to missing that knife so I ordered another and it arrived yesterday. Here it is.

Really great stuff, Ed-- especially your giving the first knife away, but also your finding and securing a second. That in itself speaks well of the pattern.

[The #79 Workhorse Whittler (3-blade iteration) is one of my favorite of GEC's plethora of patterns.]

Me, I'm still marveling at the Case Canoe that just arrived, courtesy of Primble's great generosity.

His picture:

My only picture so far, complete with oven-oopsie backdrop:

This is my first in-hand look at a Case canoe. The knife much more substantial than I had gathered from pictures only, while being a wonderful slim carry. A very fine piece indeed.

The blade edges are keen (and I believe original? They sport the tell-tale striations of Case's less-than-finished finishing, anecdotally attributed to Case's catering to collectors who can thus 'prove' at a glance that a given collectible has never been sharpened. Gasp).

Awed by the Canoe's blades' near-silent evisceration of newsprint, I am once again thrown back to the drawing board my stones and/or various devices to work on my sharpening skills-- but not on this knife! It doesn't need my "help," yet. :)

Not sure ,I might've got this just before I got that sheepfoot swayback from John. But it is a 4" trapper with 3V steel by Bret Dowell. Horrible pictures of a super fine knife. Everything about it is flawless. I have a small simple lanyard of Vietnam era cord , since this had a handy lanyard hole. I've not used it,nor tested it,or cut anything, but this steel is supposed to be some good stuff.

It's not one GEC uses often... but there's still some #12 Toothpics and a #48 Improved trapper with corset shield still out there.

It's great you were able to find another Ed!! I hope the youngster appreciates the one you gave him.

Great looking bone P.!!

3V is some good stuff Vince!!

Just found these this morning at a local Gun Show, Pair of Uncle Henrys in nice shape. Both knives still tight and smooth, will need sharpening. Hard to beat for the grand sum of 22 bucks.
