After the Easter break, this Nothfield Blackwood Coyote finally arrived to me here in Europe.

At first I was aghast, this knife is tiny with a capital 'T' I was expecting a diminutive knife but this was a bit of a shock, the more so as I have small hands for a man and I don't dislike small knives either. But...After the initial shock/prejudicial reaction had worn off I examined the knife thoroughly. Extraordinary finish on the one I got anyway, nothing sharp except the edge, wood radiused beautifully like some polished pebble.

Snap: Very good/loud even on a mite
Pull: Around 6
Half-stop. Yes
Gaps when held up to strong light? No
Blade centre: Yes
Pins flush: Yes all 6, no horrible sink holes as can often be on GECs
Shield flush with scale material: Yes
Sharp enough to shave arm-hair: Yes
Blade play: No
Good match mark/pile: Yes, wood dark with some deep grain.

It's growing on me rapidly but it is a Lilliputian:D:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

These just got in this week from the exchange. Liking both very much so far. We will see if they become a permanent addition.

That's a nice 73 and 54! Great patterns to start a GEC collection with. A must have is a #15 now!

(pattern number is the first 2 numbers of the serial on the tang)

Thanks. I appreciate it. I just ordered an 18 and a 15 is on my list but I don't get the blade that has the tip cut out of it.

The blade with the tip cut out is called a "one arm" blade. You place that notch on your pocket seam or other spot and use it to open the blade rather than needing two hands to pull the blade open. I've personally never tried it but there are a few threads where people have found that it works quite well. Hope this helps!

They are small aren't they? I ordered one without even looking at the specs and was a little surprised when I got it. Sweet knives though!

I know there's some of us that like a knife so much that we "need" to have more than one. I picked up this green micarta Bob Dozier Custom Loveless DPH to go with my other one in ironwood. Same year of manufacture, 2009, 3/16" 154CM steel, 8-1/8" OAL with a 3-5/8" blade. Bob does an amazing job of making the handle nice and sleek with a nice flair at the end to keep your hand locked into place. Add in that nice tapered tang and thin red liners and it makes for a very nice custom inspired by the original.

Bob Dozier learned how to make his sheaths for these knives right from Bob Loveless so they stay spot on, true to the way Loveless made his.

I've always admired Dozier's drop points, Jake. That's a nice one.
