Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

So much character in the stag on that little 18! If I didn't have one in hand now, I'd swear that was a full sized knife. GEC definitely got it right on that one!

Thanks JFowl : I certainly have to agree with you on the 18s !!!! I also obtained another one in Sangria and with a sample size of 2 //// there is absolutely nothing about either of them to complain about . They feel little , but they Do Not look little. GEC got it right in the ratios on sizing it down IMO.

Will : Thanks to you too my friend !!! As you know , I was afraid that the 18s were a little small to get Really Good Stag on a repeatable basis . I really have not looked at the other ones other than what was available at CK , or what I call My Knife Shop. I just know what I look for in Stag and when I went through CK's selections , I never saw any others that had what I look for. I am fully aware that differant people look for things about Stag differently than I do and that is fine. I certainly do encourage other people to post their Stag 18s because I Can Not Be the only one that was lucky to get a Stag 18. I think that there was at least 91 of them made.

Nice Pacific Hardware, Lloyd! I've got one, a barlow in smooth bone.

Birthday Present!! 54 Big Jack. Nice heavy knife with great blades.
Also just picked up a couple others from the exchange. Will post those as they arrive. Working on building up my Traditional collection a bit.

How's the pull on that 54 Big Jack? I just got an identical twin two weeks ago - it has a crazy strong pull on the clip blade. Call it an 8.5...

But the autumn gold bone is striking, and it is a nice, heavy knife. Congrats.

Thank you. The springs are stout; solid 8 pull on both I would say. It takes some attention to get them open, also they snap into the halfstop position with authority as well. This is still new, and I expect it to get a little better after a while. A Northfield with Long Pulls may have helped with opening, but I am happy with the Tidioute version.

One of the best Mondays to date. This took alot of moving parts in a deal but it is finally here. Having one of Ken's older builds (Thanks Jake) to compare to this newer one from 2013 cements Ken as one of my favourite knifemakers.

3 3/4 single blade jack built on a stock knife frame
Both knives feature flat grinds and CPM 154

After the Easter break, this Nothfield Blackwood Coyote finally arrived to me here in Europe.

At first I was aghast, this knife is tiny with a capital 'T' I was expecting a diminutive knife but this was a bit of a shock, the more so as I have small hands for a man and I don't dislike small knives either. But...After the initial shock/prejudicial reaction had worn off I examined the knife thoroughly. Extraordinary finish on the one I got anyway, nothing sharp except the edge, wood radiused beautifully like some polished pebble.

Snap: Very good/loud even on a mite
Pull: Around 6
Half-stop. Yes
Gaps when held up to strong light? No
Blade centre: Yes
Pins flush: Yes all 6, no horrible sink holes as can often be on GECs
Shield flush with scale material: Yes
Sharp enough to shave arm-hair: Yes
Blade play: No
Good match mark/pile: Yes, wood dark with some deep grain.

It's growing on me rapidly but it is a Lilliputian:D:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will
