This little guy showed up in the mail today. Thanks again, Logan!

Burt Foster Personal, 52100, spalted maple...

Burt Foster Personal

I was just looking at those recently-- beautiful maple, there! Nice catch.

...Burt will be hammering some Darksides soon, I hope :)

Oh la, those Darksides.... I've never recovered from seeing Gary's.

Repeatedly. :D

[Gary, is your owl-infested-handle Burt Foster also a 'Personal'? My apologies, I forget.]

Be nice if somebody started a Show Your Various Shields thread.....:)

Sorta like this one? ;)

My goodness, it's hard to believe that one's well over two years old. Hmmmm, perhaps time for a new one after all! The one linked above is still worth a Peruse, in the meantime, and maybe even a revival.

Ah! I saw that you nabbed that one, and was glad. Am glad. Beautiful #25, that.

I haven't posted my Darkside lately. I'll have to remedy that! ;)

Yes Sarah, it's one of Burt's personals. The blade is a drop point in Damascus though.

Thanks Primble. I've been wearing out the waxed paper on this one taking it out to look at.

These two showed up yesterday, in my haste i posted this pic in the wrong thread, mainly cos i am chuffed to little mint balls with them both.

Excellent find there Lemmy.
I like that Tidioute shield, what I call a 'corset' style. Got a 25 and 73 with it.

Thanks Will. And thanks Sarah for the link to the shield thread. Just read through it all and there some great info to be had from it. Great ideas for customs.

Sarah, thanks for the comment :) Burt's Personal knives are full customs. They are typically around 7" overall, a very handy size for belt carry.

Burt hasn't made any Darksides in damascus in a few years :( However, his laminated blades are fantastic as users. They are "self healing" as the patina wears on the 1095 carbon core and is replenished. I hope he does make a few damascus versions since I don't have one ;)

Congrats - those two complement each other nicely! Just got a 22 (ebony) recently myself - really liking it.
