Yes and no Brett... While the blade of the ebony one was made in 2009, the knife itself wasn't. There were no ebony #73ECs made that year. It was actually put together in early 2012 with the left over blades from 2009. I know I got mine in March '12 as soon as they were released to dealers. 28 of them exist... well, 27 now thanks to Ed and his tractor
