Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I have wanted a custom in this pattern for some time. Ive actually never had this pattern and thought I should check it out first. I managed to pick this one up for less than $20. Great snap on all, but I am now torn in having it cleaned up. I originally bought it to have it modified, but I am now rethinking that. Either way I like it.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

That beautiful old Hibbard , Spencer , & Bartlett has some great little Battle Scars Brett .
I agree with Paul that you should leave it as is .
Will be a great little Sunday carry.
Great find and buy my friend.

Is that a 371? I'll bet you'll like it. When I rediscovered pocket knives in January 2014, I think my first knife purchase was a clamshell package at Mr. Sam's store containing a Chinese Buck Trio (373, a little smaller than your stockman) and Solo (379). Nice couple of knives, in my opinion (although I gave away the Solo).

Just got this 4" Frontier Stockman in the mail yesterday. I don't know much about the Frontier line, but the cost was within my "why not" range, and it seems like a decent knife. I'm guessing the scales are Delrin, but to be honest they look and feel like they could be bone. (Feel free to correct me on that. :D If they're Delrin, it's some of the nicest Delrin I've seen.)

Here are a couple of 8 knives I got in a Labor Day knife shopping spree.

One is a Marbles ram's horn pruner, which seems to be a very solid, well-made knife.

You might notice that the horn is "flaking"on the pile side. Here's a closer view:

Anyone have experience with or opinions about lightly sanding ram's horn to remove/eliminate flaking?

I also ordered a "ram's horn" Rough Rider canoe, but didn't pay close enough attention to the advertisement that clearly states that the covers are "ram's horn bone" (once the knife arrived, the blade etch made this very clear to me :o). In other words, it's not ram's horn at all, but bone processed to simulate ram's horn (thus similar to the situation with "stag bone"). But I think it actually looks quite realistic, although if you get close enough, it's easy to see the jigging marks. Some photos:

Pics in the sunlight reveal the jigged bone nature of the covers:

It's not "the real deal", but I'm actually quite happy with it!:D

I say give her a nice edge and rejoice:D:thumbup: That's a fine one, Brett!

My 2016 Case Mini Trapper with Caplifter (3207 SS) came in the mail. I'm so happy that Case made this pattern, and in stainless! :)

These two stockman knives for me this week. The Walnut Rodgers jigged bone #63090 came in nice and dark, love the jigging and the threaded bolsters. Real good fit and finish . I was going to pick up another swayback in 6.5 stag bone, but decided to get the case/bose sowbelly instead. Also with good fnf.

That ebony cattle knife is sweet! I just wish they didn't cost so much ..... I could do $250ish maybe $300 but I thought they were north of $400.

It does look good though.
